Wow, the 00z Euro absolutely destroys eastern LI and SNE on Tuesday. Let's hope that continues to trend, but it's too little, too late for us as of now.

Back on subject, just started to snow here.

Looked like it moved the precip more into a E-W gradient rather than north-south like we saw at 12z. I think its gonna be a really close call for much of Ulster, Kingston could get anything from 0-3" id guess. Dutchess County will probably do a little better.

Binghamton just raised the expected accumulations for Sullivan County (still under a Winter Weather Advisory) to 3-6 inches.

Statement as of 3:04 AM EST on January 24, 2015

 

...Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon EST today...

* locations...Sullivan County...New York.

* Hazards...snow.

* Impacts...slippery snow covered roads this morning.

* Accumulations...3 to 6 inches of snow. The highest amounts of snow will occur from near Monticello, south and east.

* Timing...snow through mid morning before tapering off this afternoon.

* Temperatures...upper 20s this morning, rising to near freezing by afternoon.

* Winds...northeast up to 5 mph.

 

It's snowing moderately heavy in Hurleyville now (just north of Monticello).

Went to bed at 1 am. Must have snowed at 1 to 2 inches an hour.

Crazy..

I almost fell over when I saw all the snow outside.

Yeah, I think we all knew it was a quick-hitting storm, but it's a little disappointing that I missed an entire nor'easter between my 1 am bedtime and 6 am alarm... hah.

Itvwas awesome. I was up til about 330. The sleet has arrived here now, although very light. On my way into sparta now, ill report on road conditions. Dont worry, im not driving right, my son is.
