UlsterCountySnowZ
What are they waiting for to pull the trigger on warning? Most guidance is in agreement that atleast orange and rockland points eastwards should see 4-8, figures that warrants a low end warning

Juliancolton
NWS point-and-click says 1-2" tonight and 3-5" tomorrow for me. Plow-able snowfall pretty much a lock, and if the 4km NAM has any say in it, we may yet have a storm on our hands...

UlsterCountySnowZ
No Warning?! Damn, snow cancel I could care less whether they upgrade or not, the guidance is there, I was just curious as to there logic on maintaining advisory

Sometimes I miss the days of less guidance. Back in the day there was nothing like going from a Travelers Advisory up to a Warning and watch the accumulation forecast go up with each forecast. I still think they will bump portions of the Hudson valley but snywx may be right, not till after some of the short term 00z models run
IsentropicLift
The warning criteria up here is 7" in spots. You can see off of there probability charts that they don't feel that's likeky. Possible but not likeky. Who cares anyway, not like it makes any difference.
hudsonvalley21
I guess since it's borderline warning totals, they are holding back. Snynx I think is right too. They might bump it up later on by watching radar trends and the 00Z runs. We'll see. Hope I can use my new snowblower tomorrow.

Animal
Good day weather fans, High today was 33F Current temp is 28F WWA for 4-5 inches of snow. point and click indicated 3-7 inches is possible. Picked up a few beers & ciders earlier.(hopefully my posting stays okay later) Going to drink a few and try to stay up for the 1st flakes. Most models indicate this is our biggest storm in weeks. A few models show in excess of 6 inches of snow. All signals indicate that I will be blowing snow tomorrow at some point. Best.

Def gonna play it safe and i don't blame them, we haven't had a consistent set of models yet to date lol
Animal
got a look at the afternoon euro precip maps on another site. If we can stay all snow and the euro is right, the following holds true. 7-11 inches of snow. less far NW regions. this is up past Monticello.
