Juliancolton
Made it to -5.3, now inching upwards. That USCRN site a few miles away hit -6.2. I'd say this has been a successful night of cold.

HeinzGuy
Had -3 here for the low. Somehow POU stayed at 6...not sure how that station manages to stay so warm sometimes. Would have been a lot colder with some snow.
Guest Patrick
Morning friends! Made it to -2 last night. Not sure why I am so happy about that. It's a sick, sick hobby. My late grandfather would say "It's colder than a witch's tit." Not sure I ever felt one. Enjoy the wintry week y'all =)

Would have been a lot colder with some snow. The 2 closest stations on Weather Underground both registered a low of 2 degrees. Might be something to keep an eye on, the airport is in the middle of a lightly developed area, it's not like it's in an urban setting. http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KNYWAPPI3 http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KNYPOUGH4 I live closer to Hyde Park and I bottomed out at -2. I was looking at the temps on WU this morning and it seemed as though there was a fairly sharp dividing line between those that made it below zero and those that stayed in the low single digits that looked to run east-west across the area. Juliancolton
I think KPOU actually is that warm, relative to the rest of the county, instead of simply suffering from siting or calibration issues or something. I'm usually 5-10 degrees colder than the airport, which can be confirmed by taking a short ride in that direction and watching the car thermometer rise a degree or so every few miles. As far as mid-latitude suburbs with marginal elevations go, I managed to snag a pretty good weenie spot out here!
IrishRob17
Do you guys all have snow on the ground? I only got .7 the other day, then through sublimation there's certainly less than that out there now, I would describe the snowcover as thin, at best. Guest Patrick
i'd call it a thin coating at best back this way... animal might have a bit more than me up on the ridge line..... Juliancolton
Just a patchy dusting from that clipper a couple days ago. Reminds me of Antarctica... it snows a couple millimeters and then sticks around for a thousand years.

It may very well be warmer, but those 2 other locations are within 2-2.5 miles in either direction. Every other station within 3-4 miles ended up between 1-3 degrees for a low. Must just be something about the location itself.

chietanen
Down to 13 here. I think 1-2" is a good call for most of us tomorrow, with perhaps some isolated spots to 3". Looks like the short term models are bringing the snow in by about 3-4 am. Wouldn't be surprised to see some school delays in the morning as I suspect there may be slick roads right at the worst time.
gravitylover
Went from maybe .2 to nothing so starting from scratch. C'mon lets hear it for another coating
