How is it looking for Sullivan County (Liberty NY) Elevation around 1500 feet ? 

 

 

I was just in Loch Sheldrake and the ground was whitened from a snow shower this morning. We'll probably get two inches or so from tomorrow's snow before it changes to rain.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a wintry mix of snow...sleet and freezing rain...which is in effect from noon Saturday to midnight EST Saturday night.

* Locations...central New York and northeast Pennsylvania east of I-81...including the western Catskills and Mohawk Valley.

* Hazards...snow...sleet and freezing rain.

* Accumulations...a coating to 2 inches of snow and sleet along with up to one tenth of inch coating of ice from freezing rain.

* Timing...snow overspreads the region between noon and 2 PM...mixing with and changing to sleet and freezing rain late in the day and evening. Mixed precipitation becomes all rain toward midnight.

* Temperatures...mid 20s rising into in the lower and mid 30s.

* Winds...southeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Upton calling for 1-3" of snow/sleet followed by some zr.  

 

Gonna be a nasty day for sure up here.

 

Think you're in a good spot for this one, especially if it moves in a little faster than modeled. It looks like many of us will see at least a brief period of accumulating snowfall, possibly even moderate to heavy. Of course, most of the systems this year have been much more robust on models than they have actually verified.

 

Next week looks bitterly cold. Could see some below zero readings in favored areas on Wednesday night.
