UlsterCountySnowZ
I think I'll see between 8-10" when all said and done which was the original call, unless some really nice banding sets up for the next several hours
chietanen
Light to occasionally moderate here for the past 2 hours or so. I'm not sure I reach 10" IMBY based on radar and snow growth, but Albany is sticking with it.
snywx
Snow has picked up in the last hour and accumulating nicely once again..
xram
Alot of tree destruction incoming Yeah.....my forsythia and burning bushes are flattened, but are pretty resilient to this. Had a big oak limb snap off in the woods behind me. Lost power for 5 minutes also.

chietanen
Looks like the mix line is hitting a brick wall, and possibly even sinking to the SE a bit. Winds starting to pick up here.

Juliancolton
New HRRR gives some areas up here 4-6" more lol.. Ill believe it when I see it I think the HRRR was about the only model to anticipate how much extra snow I'd get back in February after I thought the show was done. There's always hope

Juliancolton
I usually top Poughkeepsie by a couple inches in the big storms, but the Pine Plains area is usually the big winner for Dutchess I think.

gravitylover
Yeah boy some heavy shnizzle I feel like this Broke a shovel and my cheapo Toro electric snow shovel exploded. At least I won't have to worry about plow piles for a few days because a powerline is hanging too low for the trucks to get under so they are not plowing my street until NYSEG fixes it. I need to set up a proper board and really do it right but, my estimate is 9-10" today with all the compaction and sleet layered in. It's snowing lightly again and accumulating nicely with about an inch on top of the cleared driveway from earlier but it was mighty wet when I finished so who knows. chietanen
Good call. I think Pine Plains had a huge snowfall total in October 2011 too. Something like 20" vs 9" at Poughkeepsie.

There's always hope I got 3" from the back end of the Feb 2014 in Brooklyn. HRRR had a good handle but was a little aggressive with amounts. Wow, big gradient between Mahopac and here...only 2.5" in Dobbs Ferry. Hoping for a couple more. Went to 33F and sleet for most of the afternoon with a little rain around 4:30pm. My buddy in Yorktown said 3-4" so right in line with what you have. Yeah the ramp up seems to be right here as you reach above ~500 feet. We had sessions of sleet and rain mixing in throughout the day, that's the compaction. At this point there is really only about 5-6" on the ground. NepaJames8602
Measured about 9 to 10" depending on surface. This is total on ground atm. Roads are a mess here. Still a few hrs to go as that stuff out in central Pa needs to swing through.
