Unless some of us flip to sleet Im pretty sure most of us end up with 12"+..

Not even 1pm and many have 4-6" already smh

I think a lot of us are going to overperform...it's pretty clear the mixing line is setting up over the southern parts of NYC (Brooklyn ad Queens)...forecast on Channel 12 was 1-3" here and 3-6" north of 287. I think Dobbs Ferry will easily get 3-6" and there'll be more to the north, close to 12" for Orange/Putnam/Rockland...

This stuff is straight paste! Tress starting to lean. Power outages in our future?

I agree. Was just out in backyard shaking of smaller trees and shrubs and heard a decent size tree or large branch snap. A few more hours and inches a scattering of power outages is a distinct possibility.

Road conditions are absolutely horrendous in the Monticello/Hurleyville area. Wet snow piled up VERY quickly after it started about 9 a.m.

I ended up running off the road into a ditch and had to abandon my car. THree others within 50 yards of me also ended up in the ditch.

That sucks, sorry to hear this.

Looks like there may be 2 bands starting to set up, definitely one in the I-88 corridor on the NW side of the storm, and possibly one setting up from the Berks down through the mid Hudson valley.

AS OF 1203 PM EST...THE SNOW SHIELD HAS OVERSPREAD THE ENTIRE ALY
FCST AREA...EXCEPT FOR THE NRN REACHES OF HERKIMER AND HAMILTON
COUNTIES. IMPRESSIVE MESOSCALE MULTI-BANDS HAVE SET UP OVER ERN
NY AND NEW ENGLAND WITH SNOW RATES COMING IN A 1-2 INCH/HR CLIP
OVER THE BERKSHIRES AND SOUTH OF THE CAPITAL REGION. FEEL
CONFIDENT A SINGLE MESOSCALE BAND MAY FORM BASED ON THE CSTAR
RESEARCH WITH SUNYA OVER THE PAST DECADE. A POTENT MULTI-BAND MAY
FORM IN THE LATE AFTERNOON WITH SNOW RATES REVVING UP TO 3 INCHES
OR SO AN HOUR. NAM CROSS-SECTIONS OF FGEN/EPV/OMEGA/RH/SNOW GROWTH
ZONE INDICATE POTENTIAL FOR THIS SINGLE BAND EVOLUTION. TREMENDOUS
QG OMEGA HAS SET UP IN THE H700-500 LAYER ON THE N/NE SIDE OF THE
DEEPENING AND INTENSIFYING CYCLONE. MSAS PRESSURE FALLS ARE CLOSE
TO 5-6 HPA/3 HRS N/NE OF THE SFC WAVE LOCATED JUST SE OF THE
DELMARVA AT 1600 UTC. EXPECTING THIS STORM TO TRACK INSIDE THE
40N/70W BENCHMARK...JUST EAST OF MONTAUK...AND NANTUCKET THIS
EVENING.

Fun driving conditions out there    Snowfall rate lightened up for a bit and things compacted quickly.  That 5" on the garbage can turned into a little less than 3 but is climbing back up quickly.  There's at least that much on the roads and yeah, trees are starting to bend here too.  This stuff is heavy!  Temp has hovered between 32-34 all day.  Gonna go out and do a shovel session after I finish this beer.

Yes cause I've dry slotted a lot the last few years before filling back in

What is mentioned above is what I see happening on radar, I'm not worried.
