chietanen
Sad to say it, but I think my rink is DOA. I was holding out hope that these few days would bring it back to life, but I think the sun angle is just too much. I will give it one more shot in the morning after a cold night tonight. Anyone think some of us might be in for a little snowy surprise on Sunday? So much for the well advertised warmup!
gravitylover
I kinda want it over but... The woods are drying out nicely and where there is still "snow" it's the most wonderfully supportive crust ever. If the r**n doesn't do it in that cold might just lock it back up. I hope that's the way it works out.
Juliancolton
10.6F last night, but it's amazing how the temp can rebound 20 degrees in the first couple hours after sunrise this time of year. I just wish we would start making a bit more headway into spring. The occasional warmup has been just enough to turn everything muddy and provoke thoughts of greenery and warmth before we get a few frigid nights to ensure nothing can dry out or start growing. Feels like we take one step up and two steps back with this season, and we don't even have any snow to show for it. meh.
chietanen
Maybe we will see some signs of spring after rain and a minor warmup in the next week. Off topic, but that fued between Yanksfan and Forky is getting way out of hand. Almost every single thread is littered with it.
Animal
Good day all, Taking a look at the most recent NAM/GFS runs, it looks as if we get 2-3 inches of rain Saturday into Monday, Mt Holly NWS & Upton NWS both mention that temps may cool enough to produce a mix late Saturday night into Sunday. Upton even mentions some snow. Should be an interesting storm. Best

Juliancolton
Couple tenths of an inch of rain in the gauge, just a raw day out today. This weekend looks to produce a formidable deluge on the order of several inches. Most models have the "wraparound" band of precip on Sunday night as the cutoff upper level low starts to depart to our east, and I buy it. Reminds me a bit of the February 13th event in that regard. The GFS suggests said band does little other than pad our rainfall totals, but the NAM and Euro allow for some snowier potential. Might as well have something to watch if we're going to be holed up inside all weekend!

Yeah, the last 6 weeks, it is what it is but this winter slipped down my countdown, at least snow wise. On the cold side if things, a rather impressive year. threeyoda
Expecting 2.5 to maybe 3 inches of rain over the next three days here in Pompton Lakes. Not expecting too bad of a flooding situation with all the snow melted and the rivers low. If this was the beginning of March instead of the end, we would definitely be looking at much worse situation, similar to the floods of March 2010 and 2011. chietanen
The next couple weeks, if one were to believe the GFS at least, look absolutely abysmal. Continued cool temperatures and rather wet (maybe even white next weekend?). This is certainly shaping up to be a spring to forget. I wonder if we go right from 40's and 50's to 70's and 80's this year.
Animal
NWS Binghampton has issued WWA for counties as far south as Pike in PA & Sullivan in NY for Sunday night. Just pointing it out that it may cool just enough for some mix in some areas.
Juliancolton
The GFS and NAM are both on board for at least an additional inch of QPF on Sunday night from NW Mass to NW Jersey. GFS is like +1 or +2C from 800 mb to the surface, while the NAM would be cold enough for a glaze to sleet and potentially to snow.

gravitylover
This storm was pretty poorly timed.
