Winter Interior NW Burbs & Hudson Valley - 2014

I think you can say that about a lot of the counties up here. I imagine that Julian, roughly 15 miles east of me, gets several more inches of snow per year than I do in the valley. Same thing can be said for 15 miles south of me in the Hudson highlands. Especially true in early and late season storms.

I usually top Poughkeepsie by a couple inches in the big storms, but the Pine Plains area is usually the big winner for Dutchess I think.

Has anybody ever made a halfway decent average snowfall map for the Hudson Valley? I've only been able to find dodgy maps that are rather outdated.

Our schools are full day and they haven't said anything yet. I expect to get the phone call at 5am for full closure.

Think I'll have any clearance problems?

Traction should be good with Conti EWC's

Should have no issues, should check out my car and see why i "can" have issues LOL. Conti EWC's are great snow tires, wouldnt hurt to also drop the pressures to 15-20 psi as well for more tread width and traction

I'm not their biggest fan, but the SREF's look pretty juiced. Mean of about 12" at POU, up a few inches from 9z (1.3" total precip) and aside from the two outliers, every member is between 9-14".

Yanks posted a map of the srefs in the main thread. The mean looks tucked in and may have some members leaning to the left.

18z NAM may come in juiced again

that's right.. you live on top of that mountain that basically overlooks the mall off Mountainview Ave, right?

Yep...its come in handy in recent years lol. Although it has led to me sleeping at my parents house many times because getting up that hill is impossible.

lol southern rockland has a few weenie hills... I think the best one might be Blauvelt State Park.. that has some pretty good elevation.

There was an old house up on that hill off tweed blvd that was for sale for years...tried to convince my wife to buy it lol. Around 500', great views to the west...

This is what happens when the coast gets rain and inland gets snow. People try to pick you apart and prove you wrong and discredit anything that goes against them.

Honestly I appreciate the pbp you do. Sometimes you let them get under your skin and fuel the fire. Just bite your tongue bro and keep it movin.
