Nice QPC bomb for the region on teh 12z confirmed True, but rgem was the best model within 48 hours imo and they are nearly identical

ILoveWinter
Hey guys, occasional poster. Just wondering what are your thoughts around the armonk area (which I guess is the southern extent of this sub forum)? I always find that the area around HPN is a major transition zone in these marginal events but it sill can be dicey being just a few miles north of there... This time of year I'd go with the Westchester Medical Center and North FTW. That little bit of elevation coming out of WP makes a big difference accumulating on surfaces during marginal temps during daylight hrs.
Animal
12 GFS looks very similar to the 6 Z run. Most people still look to get 8-12 inches.

Juliancolton
12z NAM vertical motion at KPOU: against temperature: I really wish the whole column were a few degrees cooler to try and get some dendrites going, but I don't think I have a right to complain about 1.4" LE all frozen. chietanen
I think the elevated areas from NWNJ up through Putnam County are going to be the big winners here. Elevation plus being closer to the better dynamics ftw. Anyone have RGEM totals? Solid 8-12"+ for most of region, again highest in elevated areas. 1-1.4" or so total precipitation. Looks like many areas start briefly as rain.
