Juliancolton
The NAM doesn't really get any honest precip into the area until real late on Sunday or early Monday morning. The am commute would be rockin'.

ENYsnow
18z GFS coming in way north compared to 12z. It's far from over but as of now it looks like the ukmet is leading the way again and the other models playing catch up.

The north trend will continue. One positive is whoever can smell the rain will snow the hardest. Time will tell

Yeah unless the models are over amplifying the northern stream trough and vortmax this isn't going back south. Luckily confluent flow along the jet entrance region to the north will keep this from running into the SNE. There's going to be some nice dynamics aloft with this event.. wouldn't be surprised to see some impressive banding develop.

Latitude is def preferred for an event like this but we live for SWFE events up here.

Just my opinion, but I really don't see anything in the upper levels of the GFS nam or euro that suggest anything other than snow north of NYC
IrishRob17
Man, the hawk is out tonight! Temps dropping like a rock, blowing snow all through the air, roads covered over it spots. Love it!
White Gorilla
Something to keep an eye on. If I got over to a mix bag after a decent thump, so be it. You know, as much as I do not like taint, sometimes a nice thin coating of ice on top of deep snow helps to preserve snowpack longer. Just a thought. At 500, shoudn't winds be out of the ENE with projected track? If so, warmth should be limited.
White Gorilla
Even without the blizzard, this is starting to turn into a pretty spectacular winter up this way for cold and snow lovers. Agreed. The look and feel is of a classic winter out there. Delayed but not denied.

SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Checking in from DC because I saw some nice runs this area. Hopefully you guys can cash in. I'm hoping to do some snowshoeing and/or cross country skiing in the area this season so I'm rooting for you to build up a base. Good luck! SEC
Man, the hawk is out tonight! Temps dropping like a rock, blowing snow all through the air, roads covered over it spots. Sure is. Down to 16° with a north wind of 20 mph now in Hurleyville. Below zero windchill.
White Gorilla
I am really excited to deepen our snowpack, possibly double or more. Having a really good feeling most of us end up a foot plus with the tremendous overrunning thump and with temps in the teens, ratios should be superb. Ive seen this movie before and feel the north trend isn't done quite yet. It has a long way to go before it even puts us in jeopardy of taint. We may actually benefit from another slight shift northward.

Yes, would love to be in a position where the taint goes as far as HPN, leaving us in the heaviest snow axis.
