Scarlet Pimpernel
NAM would def. be a great run for DC IMO, but it def took a step towards the weaker solutions, meaning, not all of the energy is going to come out, but hopefully enough does where we can cash in... Honestly, the GGEM crushed the other models in the last snowstorm, I now it sounds weenie-ish, but I'm going to ride the GGEM to the grave with this one. Yup, I'm hopeful we can score a light to moderate event. Of course something more than that would be great, just not counting on that right now unless there's a big consensus for it. But as I said before, something like the March 25 snow last year would be nice to see.
Heisy
I'll keep saying it, to me it is all about the energy around New Mexico, the good models hold that energy back a bit and phase it with the shortwave coming out of Canada faster, the bad models kick that energy eastward. ravensrule
I don't think it will fold honestly, but I don't think it will bring out all the energy like the 00z run did...I think a compromise would be perfect for us. Yes it would, but unless the Euro comes back around in its next 2 runs we are probably screwed.
mappy
You Dont Need Any Rooting Up There Agreed. I don't want it at all.
Heisy
Yes it would, but unless the Euro comes back around in its next 2 runs we are probably screwed. It wouldn't take much for the EURO to show a solution that it had at 12z yesterday for example, which would make a lot of people happy. I imagine the GGEM takes a step towards a weaker solution as well, but its done well lately, so who knows.

Heisy
12z GFS some good changes so far, energy diving out of Canada coming in farther East, and the energy around Texas is farther West....
Ralph Wiggum
12z GFS some good changes so far, energy diving out of Canada coming in farther East, and the energy around Texas is farther West....that energy around tx is crucial to the development of this system imo

GD0815
This is def a big improvement so far, enough to get it done? idk, but it looks way better so far... Even if the gfs is to come around to a stormy solution, one thing i have noticed is that it will do so gradually...

Heisy
It might leave the energy down in the south, but it is so damn close to bringing it out like the Canadian

Heisy
The motherload is down around New Orleans, its trying to bring it out, idk if it'll succeed, but either way the front end gives us a nice snowstorm.
SomeguyfromTakomaPark
This is about as nice a solution as you can hope for in Mid March. We'd be marginal tempwise in and around DC proper but since the bulk is falling at night it could work.

Amped
amazing to watch a minor change from6z at 48 hrs grow into a huge difference by 84. Clearly a very sensitive setup.
