All rain in Clayton...34/34. They really ramped up our expected rainfall amounts... now calling for 1"-2" overnight and an additional 1/2"-3/4" tomorrow. The sogginess continues after several dry days.

34/34 here as well and the wind is gusting to near 30 pretty miserable out there, the shad are just starting to run good in the Tar and now I will have to wait another week to fish cause she will be running fast and muddy after this event.

31.8 and zr/sleet here in Colfax. When the heavy returns come in, will it be all liquid or some frozen. I'm beginning to think the frozen may be done and we have 12 hours of zr ahead of us. In the back of my mind are the many times in years past when it looked like devastating ice was coming, only to be save by "warm" rain, heavy rates, and 33.0.

Lookout just posted this in the storm thread.  This is why we're (freezing) raining, GSO brethren.  Let's hope that 850-900 mb layer cools off...

even gso has a warm nose. check out 879...probably another around 817. These are narrow but just goes to show you how far north the warm air is making over in nc.

Its quite clear the rain/snow line is marching northward per correlation coefficient. Rates aren't currently heavy enough to counter the WAA.

yep. that's the line i was watching earlier. It's certainly headed north since I looked at it. Would have to be some massive cooling in north ga too. ffc's sounding shows a hell of a warm nose. It's interesting to note though that the heavier elements in north ga have slowed down a lot as the upper low starts to approach. Will be interesting to see what happens there.

That was actually from an hour or so ago, so it might be better/worse now.

We'll see if rates can do the trick.  Rates have mostly been ****ty so far.

The precip shield is being stubborn about getting west, it should, you got a long way to go.
