yankeex777
No it isn't. It's a weather board and you should be able to discuss anything related to weather. It is up to you if you want to post in it or not. +
IsentropicLift
I'm just not a fan of separate threads for events that are still 5+ days out, especially this year when we've seen wild shifts even inside of 72 hours. Could have just put it in a general March discussion, but that's just my opinion, not trolling anything.

Heisy
GFS looks very similar to the EURO @ 126, lets see if the polar express can beat the wave out west.

MJO812
The GFS is going to be suppressed again. I am not sure if the GFS is focusing on the same wave as the Euro.
IsentropicLift
I am not sure if the GFS is focusing on the same wave as the Euro. You're right, the Euro has more phasing, the GFS takes the southern stream vort and kicks it east.
IsentropicLift
12z GFS says that we can expect warm temperatures and rain showers for next Wednesday.
Heisy
171, but okay, the front has cleared, cold air on its heels and a very sweet shortwave near 4 corners, not sure if it will phase though.
Heisy
You're right, the Euro has more phasing, the GFS takes the southern stream vort and kicks it east. I think YOU'RE focusing on the wrong wave, the GFS is similar to the EURO, The wave that the EURO blows up is still in the 4 corners at 174 hours.. Heisy
Its not going to phase, and it is slightly different than the EURO (as to be expected), but this was a big step towards a favorable pattern for a March storm...
Heisy
Energy diving down from Canada may be able to form a Miller B in time, we'll see (not like it matters)
Heisy
For reference, here is last night's EURO @ 168 hours, compared to today's 12z GFS @ 156...GFS took a step towards looking like the EURO...The GFS kind of shoots a wave out ahead of the energy out west and doesn't have the PV as far south as the EURO
NEG NAO
I was trolling, in case that wasn't clear to anyone. I mean, I just don't know any other way to respond to threads prognosticating winter storms 10 days in advance in March! I suggest taking a look at the thread title and description - it does not say anything about this being a winter storm because we don't know what the precip types will be yet in the region. Anyways the 12Z GFSis showing a lot of potential to develop a storm in the time frame 12 - 14 - I am sure the Euro will continue showing a system along the east coast when it runs this afternoon

IsentropicLift
The Euro is really digging the energy this run. Lots of northern stream interaction. Cutter to the TN Valley but thanks to the PV it has no choice but to redevelop.
