("Now zat iz what you call eh Fet Bastard"... think of a faux French accent, and exactly how it's written on the blurb on the back of the bottle!) But I do have Drambuie in the liquor cabinet, too... HighStakes
They suck i cannot watch them play anymore. I'm usually very easy on college kids because for the most they play hard and of course they are not pros so I don't like to be harsh on them or bash them because they don't deserve that but this bunch of kids they have are absolutely horrible. Their entire approach is atrocious. I don't blame Turgeon as much as others because I believe there's no way he is this bad of a coach with his track record. It has to be the players. The recent demise of Maryland basketball has ruined March madness for me. At least opening day is only 2 weeks away

arlwx
Many roads did not receive pretreatment due to the rain threat. Therefore, the plows need to treat more major roads, I suspect Arlington CO VA schools will not be able to reopen on Tuesday because the plows won't be available in time not only to treat The Hill Of Doom bus route, but all the side streets. Perhaps ditto for other area schools. July 3 school for everyone?
arlwx
A suggested PAC to focus on Northern VA members of the VA General Assembly; Repeal The King's Dominion Law!! (For those living elsewhere, that law prohibits many school systems with potential teen tourists or workers from starting the school year before Labor Day, unless an exemption is approved.) MacChump
Yeah, having the temps helps a lot though I'm still melting in lulls so there's plenty of warmth left still. I agree on the 6+. I think 4" will still be a bit of a struggle IMBY.agreed

False, gusty showers may actually happen 19 pages for some clouds Yeah, silly weenies wasting their time on a fantasy storm! 8-10" of clouds FTW. Just kidding, guys. NorthArlington101
Oh hi there. lol I can take it now, happy with my 8". I hate plows though. You hear them coming and they ruin your picturesque scene in a flash.

North Balti Zen
I have now had 4 warning criteria snowfalls this winter for my backyard (1/2, 1/21, 2/13, 3/17). And two others that just missed by a few inches (12/8 and 3/3). What a great winter for snow. Absolutely awesome. Just thrilled.

WinterWxLuvr
Yesterday was a perfect day. Got to watch UVA dismantle Duke for the ACC title. Started snowing as soon as the game ended, and then came hard and heavy. Great day.

Even I couldn't have dreamed this event up in my weenie mind. Yeah, gotta hand it to LWX too...great job by them with this forecast considering all the flak they took here from some. I think we beat the climo drum way too much here and this is a good example when its good to look at the all the players on the field and come up with a forecast. mattie g
The flock of robins that ravaged my front yard holly last week is like "WTF?" now. They're searching around for some more food, and scrounging what they can, but the fat bastids got greedy while there was plenty of food on the ground! Totally agree. I mean, climo obviously needs to be given a ton of weight. But if all we had to do to forecast was look at the calendar, well, then forecasting would be a lot easier. Anomalous events happen. We aren't supposed to get two violent/destructive tornadoes in less than a year (College Park/La Plata)...we aren't supposed to get 60" in 2 weeks (2010)...etc. Can't dismiss something just because it goes against what is normal/expected. I'm NOT saying anyone here did this (no one dismissed just on climo alone) and there was certainly plenty of reason to be skeptical aside from climo ( the rapid temp drop that I wasn't totally convinced would occur, though fortunately it did, amount of QPF/ratios/etc.). Also couldn't help but notice all the "sick of winter, want spring" posters posting ecstatically in the obs thread last night, haha. Who's ready for one more before March ends? Who's ready for one more before March ends? I'm sick of winter and badly want spring, but if it's going to snow, I'll enjoy it...especially a nice dumping of cold, dry powder without any mix to muck it up. I think there are a lot of others like me in that regard. I wan't ecstatic about it, but it was a pretty phenomenal event. I hope the snow is gone in 48 hours and we get into the 60s with sun in a few days. *That* would make a perfect early-spring week!

At least this March has had some warm days for those looking for warmth. Despite the 12-15" of snow, we've had multiple days in the 60's and look to get there again by Friday. Something for everyone this month. I must admit the 60's on Saturday felt great.
