I've got gardening to do, a toddler who needs to get the hell outside and run around and yes I'm just a bit tired of snow at this point.

Amen to that sista!

I'm dragging out the summer deck furniture today as a symbolic gesture (middle finger) for old man winter.  :)

Time to go paint the upstairs bathroom...check back in at 2pm for the Euro.

I hate having house crap to do on the weekend...my wife has a warped sense of how long something should take to complete..."can you paint the bathroom and take the kids to the park before lunch"?

Everyone who likes that storm got last banded. A bunch of us got ****all nothing from that last band and had dried out to nothing by 9:00. Super crappy up here.

I got less than 4" and had nothing after 9:30 am but still liked that storm.

Good for those up this way who were pumped over busting on 3/3 and saw dried out nothing after a few inches while a mega fun band pummeled 30 miles away. Glad for those who got pummeled, disappointed it wasn't my backyard too.

Hell, I waited two weeks to feel free to express that disappointment so as not to infringe on the happiness of others on 3/3 and I still get trolled.

When is spring getting here?

At least I have some widows open in the house today, that's nice.

I mean sure, how could you not like a solid storm in March, but are we all forgetting that a good number of us were thinking widespread 6-8 just a few hours before the storm and a lot of us got half of that.

Yeah for the longest time I was hoping for 8-12"+, but then when I realized that wasn't happening, I knew that I could either enjoy what I got, or melt down like a psycho. I'm so glad I chose the more sensible option

It was a fun event even if it underperformed.... especially with the bitter cold that came with it. Doesn't happen very often in March.

yea, me too. It was fun to track, watch fall, and shovel. I'd do a redux of that any day.

The weenie side of me wants 8" to hit 50 on the year though. 4"+/- is the realistic call for my yard. Anything less than 2 would suck.

Surprises always happen with these things...good and bad...great winter!!!!

On a lighter note,

I learned this week that I have been accepted to graduate school at Millersville University and North Dakota State University for a Masters of Science in Emergency Management. :D

It was nice...disappointing but nice...again how can anyone complain about breaking monthly climo in one storm? This is just gravy. I don't really care what happens with this storm, but nothing would please me more than a bomb  :snowing:

Also, hell yeah it has been a great winter! When I got here, you guys were over a thousand days with no 2 inch snowfalls. We were dying just to get 2.0. Look at us now...

I admit the March 3 storm was a bit disappointing and underperformed, but it was still a neat event.  Not to mention the anomalous cold.  This entire winter has been great, it's like we've "re-discovered" how to do a moderate event around here, seems like it's been a long time.  So many storms for tracking, which made it very interesting, plus the consistent cold.  And we did that without any blocking to speak of, nor an El Nino!  Coming on the heels of the last 3 winters, this one was a real treat.

The disappointment (if that's the right word) at the March 3 event is nothing compared to the sheer sense of failure on March 6 last year.  As I've probably said before, this year it was kind of a bonus (and the St. Paddy's snow potential is likewise a bonus), and nice to end the winter on such a note.  Last year, it was sheer desperation after going over 2 seasons without a 2" snowfall, and we got screwed close in to the event when it looked so good to finally get that monkey off our backs.

Of course I'd love it if we could get absolutely pounded by the St. Paddy's storm, but if we score 3-5" or 4-6", along with wintry cold temperatures to keep it around at least through the day Monday, that would be nice.  And a fitting end to a fun ride this winter season.
