KamuSnow Posted March 4, 2014 Share Posted March 4, 2014 Looking at surface observations, at 10 pm the highest readings in PA appear to be in Central PA, at the higher elevations. This is some cold dense air, so it will be interesting to see how low we can go. Currently 10F here in Concord Township, up from 9F about a half an hour ago. Same here, more or less - actually it's the same now as it was at midnight: 9F. Looks like clouds came in and put a lid on the radiational cooling. There was also some warm advection overnight aloft, not really strong, but perhaps enough. Also, the high pressure wasn't directly overhead, but there also wasn't strong ongoing cold advection at the surface either... just a modest north to northwest flow, perhaps enough to prevent good inversions from setting up.
