3/3 Winter Storm Obs

In Gainesville, FL currently. Temperature is in the upper 60s, heading down to Tampa. Hard to believe some parts of Carolinas will be getting snow tomorrow and temperatures in the teens or lower tomorrow night after being in 60s/70s today.

Hope it is a good one.

55* w/44*dp.  wind sw@10

Sure hope the NWS forecast of WWA for 3pm is accurate, and isn't too late in the day. My employer really botched the last storm, closing AFTER the roads were covered. What an adventure that was.

Will be interesting to see how this event evolves.

See if this link works for you, NCSNOW - dropdown menu is at the top right.

Thanks here it is: best one imo:

Cold air is rushing into NC across the border now.

Click the radius tab and it will go out 300 miles. Pretty neat to watch unfold

I can confirm. Strong steady NE wind very light rain atm. Temp down to 40. It was 45 30 mins ago. At that rate another hour or so should be below freezing.

Worst possible scenario with the heavy rain washing the brine away early. If this is the real deal this afternoon, i see hours long traffic jams again. Ugh.

I'm working from home today, i kinda expect a traffic mess this afternoon. hope i'm wrong.
