Absolute Humidity
1.5 Gets us to 68 YTD . Picked up 3/4" of an inch in the last half hour burst, so it makes sense for Howell to get to 4", they were under heavy snow for an hour more than me. PB GFI
Beautiful outside, 18 degrees with fresh snow. So much for high sun angle , Snow can`t stick in March , Temps will never be in the teens during the day in March . Need heavy snow rates to accumulate . lol

Guest Pamela
Had 3/10ths of an inch of snow today...with a current temp of 18 F a stiff north wind, and about 4 inches of snow on the ground...it is a brutal night on northern Long Island for early March. Just came home from work on the S. Shore and some spots down there likely cracked 1 inch. Left the heat off when I went to work in the morning and the temperature in the house was 44 F when I got home a short time ago. Like I said, brutal night for this time of year. Allsnow
It's in the 20s here. If this storm came north NYC would have easily been in the teens all day….just nw of the city stayed in the teens all day. It was very doable if the storm was further north
PB GFI
It's in the 20s here. Just saw this . yeh in NYC because it didn't snow during the day . Midday DC temps with snow was 19 . Not to mention once you got out of NYC it was in the teens all day , and not just N . Laurel Hollow to you`re E and Colts neck off to you`re S . NYC and its UHI temps are a terrible metric when looking at temps around the area as a whole . ( No March Teens ) , ( Snow can`t Stick in March unless its heavy ) , ( March Sun Angle melts snow ) ETC all wives tales .

The Koppen Climate Classification System has designated the NYC climate as Subtropical...lumped in with places like Houston, Texas. It is for reasons like that that I am appalled by the readings that places such as La Guardia Airport reports...it distorts reality.

Snowshack
Impressive to have our dusting of snow from the overnight last all day. March sun angle was slacking today.
NorthShoreWx
Impressive to have our dusting of snow from the overnight last all day. March sun angle was slacking today. The 0.3" we had last night is still there, including on the blacktop driveway that gets a lot of sun and is quick to melt at any time of year. Of course there wasn't any sun today, but this time of year it is usually very effective right through the clouds. The afternoon temps mostly hovered around 19, briefly touching 20. It's 18 now and temps have been hovering in a 2 degree range for better than 12 hours.
uncle W
how is it possible to get 0.04" of precip and only have 0.1" of snowfall especially when all other sights had more?...KNYC's 0.1" has to be wrong...it should be 0.4"...
Mitchel Volk
Gotta put the zero in front of the decimal when the # is less than 1! So the ratio at CPK was 2.5 to 1.
Absolute Humidity
So the ratio at CPK was 2.5 to 1. Perhaps they are including the rain and mixed non accumulating precip that fell with the first wave. I received .03" of rain with first wave. My snow ratios were dead on 10:1 with 1.9" snow melting to .19" liquid.
