Jebman
I guess this is a reasonable amount of snow for March. I have 3 inches. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
The Ole Bucket
Increased dryslot fears to the west. But the view out my window is unchanged. Visibility probably down to 0.25 now actually.
BlizzardNole
Looks like we are winding down here now with about 4.5" on the ground. I am happy since we got what we expected, but disappointed for DC and south. One hope is that batch of snow coming out of WV holds together as it slides ESE to put a couple more inches down in those areas.

StudentOfClimatology
Wow what a bust in AA co. NWS had 10-14" yesterday. Im at 2" and will be lucky to see 4 with whats left. You should never have been expecting 10-14". Guidance put that idea to rest 24hrs ago. Enjoy this, it's a great storm.

EastCoast NPZ
I guess this is a reasonable amount of snow for March. I have 3 inches. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 While on one hand we can be bitter that we're not seeing the type of accumulations forecasted, especially those fantasy maps from 2 days ago, just think about the cold-nature of this storm. 3 or 4" of frozen powder that sticks to everything is a lot better to me than 8" of wet slop where you constantly hear drip, drip, drip (like last March). ravensrule
Awful? Really? I don't think that is a fair assessment!People always think they can do better until they actually have to do it and then they suck.
mdhokie
traffic cameras confirm dryslot from hell. Looks like another band trying to form around I-81 near HGR. Wonder if that will make it to Central MD.

Eskimo Joe
how could all the forecasters miss the dry slot that seems to be pushing in, forecasting this year has been awful Hardly awful...20 mile shifts have huge implications during split flow regimes and storms with sharp northern edge. Just because you didn't get your 15" of snow on the 240 HR GFS doesn't give you the ability to sling mud.
weatherCCB
18.9/11 measured 3.9" 4" 3.9 Ratio is definitely not 15 -1, but I think it over 10-1 Snow lighting up some, dry slot approaching
BaltimoreWxGuy
composite radar suggests there may still be reinforcements coming from the west w/in the hour! http://www.marylandwx.com/radar/klwxstate_cr.php The composite radar is weenie-ing it up a bit...the dry air is getting entrenched..Think its going to be tough to get much more..just my opinion
Ian
It was definitely a concern that cold/dry would flood the system and hurt us. But we're all pretty much model huggers these days...
mdhokie
Is Sterling really getting hammered with 30dbz or are those returns just a result of being next to the radar?

I got almost nothing in the 3/6/13 event. This is fantastic. A classic old school winter, more reminiscent of what we see in a -AMO circulation. Grothar of Herndon
Is Sterling really getting hammered with 30dbz or are those returns just a result of being next to the radar? weatherbook
Is Sterling really getting hammered with 30dbz or are those returns just a result of being next to the radar? SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Continued to be impressed with this cold, Down to 18.3. I wonder when the last time we had noon temps below 20 in dc in March was.

CoastalWx
The forecasting hasn't been poor, either. The days of pretty simulated radar images and weenie snow maps are making the science worse. Weenies getting expectations too high.
terpsnation
Lowest visibility of the day. Looking towards the city from 11 floors up, can only see about .25 of a mile.
