snowstormcanuck
The west end of Mississauga got nothing noticeable. Even here at Humber (lakeshore) there is no indication that it has snowed at all. That's almost unbelievable.
snowstormcanuck
Not sure if you're talking about one being issued, but they did put a vague SWS for Toronto and southern Peel Region at 218am then canceled it at 432am I meant the original statement. The threat was obvious well before 2.18am this morning.
BuffaloWeather
Congratz on the Lake effect hit guys, good to see you getting in on the lake action! Quite the storm to follow over the next week as well. Hopefully we can end this season with a bang!

Didn't pay much attention to this, but what time did the snow end in Toronto and how common is 4" LES in Etobicoke?

I don't know. Probably late morning. 4" of LES anywhere in Toronto is not that common. Last occurrence was in January of 2011.
mississaugasnow
That's almost unbelievable. Your telling me. I got picked up in mississauga at 1045am and it was sunny. It was sunny and roads dry when I arrived at Humber at 11am. I didn't even know it snowed in Toronto until I checked the weather board in class. Is it possible that the snow missed the lakeshore? I know it happens occasionally along Lake Huron where the heavy snow doesn't start until a km or two inland

I'm sure the models will lose it a couple of more times though.

A SIGNIFICANT LATE SEASON SNOW STORM IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP OVERTHE CENTRAL PLAINS MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY...THEN IS EXPECTED TOMOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS THE OHIO AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS TUESDAYNIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. THE STORM SHOULD PASS TO OUR SOUTH WEDNESDAYNIGHT. THIS STORM TRACK WOULD BE FAVORABLE FOR SIGNIFICANTACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW ACROSS MUCH OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEWYORK WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY. blizzardof96
Had a chance to look at the ec ensemble individual members. They continue to look better and better with each run, now ~17 members have a 6"+ hit for YYZ with quite a few 12"+ members. The mean has 0.5-0.6" of QPF. Still remaining very skeptical as the ridge axis looks further east then we would typically want it for a big hit but its a very interesting threat, nonetheless. snowstormcanuck
2.4mm at Pearson yesterday. So if these 10cm reports are true it's going to be 40:1+ ratios. I don't think I've ever seen ratios like that at YYZ.

I don't think I've ever seen ratios like that at YYZ. Lmao not in a million years. Nipher won't allow it . 2.4mm probably translates to 3.0cm which is no where near to what had actually fallen IMO. My Dad works near the airport and he told me, there was 10cm around the area.

blizzardof96
There is now ~26 euro ensemble members that have 6"+ for the midweek storm at YYZ and ~13 showing 12"+. Wonder if a NW trend has any merit, because the ensemble mean sure looks interesting.

Ottawa Blizzard
Until the GGEM picks up the snowstorm I'm not going to get myself too excited. I agree completely. As of this morning, the GFS has this as being a mid-Atlantic states storm.
Snowstorms
10.6cm on 2.4mm of liquid for a 44:1 ratio. That's insane. First time EC decided to factor in ratios LOL This puts YYZ at 124.2cm for the season. Statistically, every month this season has see near normal snowfall with Feb. being above normal. Not bad if you ask me.

When you look at the numbers, things aren't so bad. In my opinion, no aspect of winter has underperformed; it's been a great season. You can't expect big dog one-footers every year; it's just not in our climo.

snowstormcanuck
I noticed YYZ still has a depth of 22cm. How the hell did none of that 44:1 snow compact?

I would say my depth here is ~10-20cm, although it varies depending on sun angle. Only 10 days away from the 100 day streak. Can YYZ pull it off?
