WestCoaster
I've been driving around all day, roads are simply wet, commuting has been no problem this morning. Nothing out of the ordinary, I don't think anyone has been caught off guard. Uniform 3cm between eglinton and the 407. Seems like there is more of an east-west gradient than north-south

harrisale
Flakes are finally starting to fluff up a bit. Should help accums but have a feeling I'll still bust a bit high on my call (3.1").
on_wx
Moderate snow with bigger flakes mixed in. A little over 2" now maybe 3-4" won't be out of the question.
WestCoaster
Still 3.0 cm across northern toronto. Snow is wet and is melting at the same rate that it is accumulating. Lots of water running down drains. Will definitely not see more than 6 cm on the ground in the GTA at by the end of this event.
WestCoaster
Temp is 1.4 at downsview as per a contact there. Explains the melt.

snowstormcanuck
Same thing happening here in London. Been snowing lightly all morning but we haven't added anything. If anything, still we're losing through compaction. Still very scenic.
blizzardof96
Same situation around here... haven't really added any accumulation since this morning. Concerned about the flash freeze risk with all the water pooling around. HRRR has us dipping into the mid teens tonight. EDIT: 6cm recorded at YYZ and Buttonville from 1am-2pm per twitter
WestCoaster
I agree. LOTS of water pooling. It'll be very, very icy tomorrow morning.

harrisale
Ice will definitely be a concern. Lots of slush already freezing up on the walk home. Finished with just over 7cm here. Not bad, and looks great! Winds picking up now, lot of blowing snow.
Snowstorms
Around 5.6cm here in my area. Not bad for the first widespread snowfall of the season. With the new snow cover, if skies can clear, YYZ may record its first double digit low temperature of the season (-10C) tonight, lets see. The record low is -10.6C for tomorrow night set back in 1959.

harrisale
Winds have really picked up here. Just had a 20 minute lake effect burst. Winds must be gusting to around 70km/h.
WestCoaster
Very windy here, picked up 1cm from a lake effect burst, winds have been wild! Impressive
on_wx
Same view from yesterday of my street today. -9 feels like -20. Light snow just began looks like from a minor squall off Huron.
on_wx
Sunnier skies have been replaced by grey clouds, -SN to SN at times, and blowing snow. If the HRRR verifies for this evening, Waterloo Region could be in for a show! Lake effect showers picking up in intensity here in the last half hour. blizzardof96
HRRR wants to veer winds just enough to get that LES band into the GTA around 0z. It is on its own in this regard besides the less reliable ARW. We will see.

Ottawa Blizzard
HRRR wants to veer winds just enough to get that LES band into the GTA around 0z. It is on its own in this regard besides the less reliable ARW. We will see. hrrr_ref_toronto_8.png Anthony Farnell showed a map which has Vaughan getting 11cm (4.5") and Markham around 10cm (4") overnight, courtesy of a lake effect band. We'll see what happens! blizzardof96
Could get the remnants of the BUF band tomorrow as winds back to the S/SSE. Good point. Will sort of merge with moisture from the clipper along with pretty high inversion heights/∆t's tomorrow eve under a SE flow. Given the moisture in the low levels, Lehs should be a factor even w/ the small fetch and moderate LL shear. Should be good for another 2-4" tomorrow eve/night. on_wx
We got smacked for about 1 hour!! I took this pic at 445pm. These cars were at a crawl, and the bus I was on was doing about 20kmh down Davenport Rd - you couldn't see 2 car lengths ahead. Awesome!
