I think what's more impressive is that you're ok with it being 60 in your house. :shiver:

LOL. I wish I had a choice! The great room / kitchen area (with high ceilings and A LOT of 30+ year old windows) is all served by two electric baseboard heaters that can't quite keep up when it's that cold out. Luckily, we just got a new wood stove that is keeping things a lot warmer in here than the old one did. I didn't end up reloading it in the middle of the night, so that's why it got down to 60. With the old stove, it would've easily been in the low 50s! The windows let a lot of cold in, but they also let plenty of sun in. We'll hit 80 inside on a cold sunny day without making a fire or using the heat.  :snowing:

Tomorrow is going to set a lot of cold records in CO (not to mention across the country). Kind of ridiculous, actually.

DEN is predicted to have a high of 6 tomorrow. If that occurs, it will blow away the earliest a high that cold has been seen (12/5/72). The low is predicted to be -5, which while easily a record for the day, would fall short of the coldest temp this early in the season (11/8/50 with -8).

For Boulder, the high is predicted to be 7. This also would shatter the previous record cold max for this early (11/27/1919). The low is predicted to be -2, which would fall short of only 11/10/50 with -3.

DEN did indeed have a high of 6 today, so the coldest November high in airport history. It's also the coldest high this early in Denver history, period (next earliest was 11/17/1880).

With clearing skies and abundant snow cover, lows tonight are now expected to be in the -10 to -15 range. If we get colder than -8, it will be the coldest temp this early in Denver history. The coldest Denver has ever gotten in November is -18 on 11/29/1877.

We were -5 at 5:30 AM though it got to -7 at some point. No wind. Good morning for a run! :santa:  First tracks in Cherry Creek SP other than some bunnies and a fox or two. Amazing freezing fog at the shoreline, ice forming quickly close to shore. And the place was full of boats on Sunday. I wasn't sure how to get the message to the 8 remaining white pelicans that they better fly south fast.

It should be noted that yesterday's snowfall went down as a trace at DIA.

Latest Dates for First Measurable Snowfall at Denver:

1. 11/21/1934

2. 11/19/1931

3. 11/16/1894

4. 11/15/2010

-- 11/15/1988

-- 11/15/1987

-- 11/15/1902

8. 11/14/2008

-- 11/14/1964

-- 11/14/1944

11. 11/12/1910

12. 11/11/1882

At a minimum, it's now a tie for 12th latest, assuming snow actually accumulates at DIA today.

If you're a snow fan, it doesn't look good if history is any indicator. The previous times Denver didn't get snow until November 11, 91.6% (11/12) years finished with below average snowfall.

Aside from the aforementioned -14 at DEN (-43 departure for the day yesterday), here are some other incredible low temps from this event.

Greeley: -13

Longmont: -9

Fort Collins: -8

Casper: -27

Cheyenne: -14

Aurora: -8

Laramie: -24

Douglas: -25

Pretty much all of these are record-shattering (the -27 at Casper beats the previous monthly record cold temp by 6 degrees). Without a doubt, one of the most impressive fall Arctic outbreaks on record for the region.
