Random Chaos
Looks nice - probably 8-12" of snow (10:1 to 15:1 ratio) in the yellow band: http://meteocentre.com/models/get_accum.php?lang=en&map=qc&run=00&mod=gemreg&hi=000&hf=120&type=SN
nj2va
Latest RAP (4z) continues to advertise low 60s tomorrow for DC. Agree with Ian, I'm rooting for warmth tomorrow.

ravensrule
00z UKMET is 25mm snow per meteogram at DCA Biggest hit of all the 0Z models. Eta: until the Euro of course

Scarlet Pimpernel
That's incredible. Very good hit. Yeah, inch liquid equivalent of snow (if I'm doing my metric conversion correctly at this late hour!).
yoda
That's incredible. Very good hit. I added wrong... its slightly higher... closer to like 27-28mm

ravensrule
I added wrong... its slightly higher... closer to like 27-28mm Damn 1.06-1.10 QPF as snow.

nj2va
00z UKMET is 28mm snow per meteogram at DCA Very nice. And an improvement over 12z which was about 21/22mm IIRC?
Scarlet Pimpernel
Damn 1.06-1.10 QPF as snow. If that's all snow, it's clearly the highest by a good margin compared to liquid equivalent of what's all snow from other guidance.
WEATHER53
Don't want the warmth. 40's is not suppressive so don't need 60's anyway And it's really not the air mass that's going to dominate the event.
yoda
http://meteocentre.com/models/get_mgram.php?stn=Washington&mod=ukmet&run=00&var=std〈=en&map=us This is the meteogram at DCA on the 00z UKIE... that 5mm is the up in the air... def ~25mm is pure snow... i took half of that 5mm and added it to the pure snow
ravensrule
If that's all snow, it's clearly the highest by a good margin compared to liquid equivalent of what's all snow from other guidance. It has the 3rd highest verification score after the Euro and the Canadian so i am hugging it.
WEATHER53
This gets rockin it's going to be mid 20's temperatures or colder so rations have got to better than 10-1.

hosj III
This gets rockin it's going to be mid 20's temperatures or colder so rations have got to better than 10-1. Ratios have nothing to due with surface temps. They have to do with snow growth conditions. You need a deep saturated dendritic growth zone (between -12 and -16 C) with strong lifting into it. All cold surface temps due is preserve the snow crystals as they reach the ground.
