I knew revealing my age was a mistake.

Many young red-taggers here have been posting since they were in high school. Some have been annoying in the beginning, others were ok, but regardless, making mature and informed posts will go a long way in being taken seriously. Wishing for a 5" ice storm and calling for temps to bust warmer for no good reason other than one weak model doesn't help you with that.

Guys, can we stop caring about NYC forum meltdowns or NYC this and NYC that? If you want to talk about NYC, go there. This is the Mid-Atlantic forum. I don't think many of us care if NYC is in meltdown... kthx

Anyway, nice SREFs movement south. Hopefully prepares us for a good NAMming

Come on Yoda. It's not Storm time yet. It IS funny what's going on in the other forums. And these model runs on Friday night have little to do with what happens Sunday night. Crunch time is Sunday morning.

Have a little fun.

Seriously, older posters were saying the same thing. I don't get these double-standards. Ian was repeatedly wishing for a crippling storm.

Also, almost every storm where we were waiting for cold air to rush in it has come a little late. SREF's are a garbage model and definitely too warm but I wouldn't be surprised if the cold air is a bit delayed.

You're right, there is a double standard.

You also might be right about the cold air being delayed but let's wait until a decent model shows it before you start flapping gums about it.

LOL, you can't take everything Ian says seriously. Check out this nugget from Jan 2010 after a bad stretch of model runs.emepyse9.jpg

I don't like the double standard either, I think it's too clique-ish but that's how it is here, life isn't fair. People who've been around for years and know each other get much more leeway with silly posts. Just make good posts for a while and add value here, that will always help.

The cold air may arrive late, but I think we should wait a few days till we have a better idea to make these calls, since the storm is still way out of range for most short term models.

Good thing the NAM came north.

Seriously.. Losing power sucks but other than that I would always root for the worst event possible no matter what it is.

Thanks for that. And I'm 41 years older than hosj III, but still a :weenie: in yoda's book for sure  .

I know... I just think we could move some of it to the banter thread.  Plus, I don't want to anger the weather gods ;)

I'm a little concerned about the torch on Sunday at least as the NAM depicts it. We have seen this time and time again, where it takes longer for the cold air to arrive than anticipated. Of course it will flip to frozen eventually with a solid arctic air mass pushing in, but still...(sorry if I am beating the "it's going to be to warm" horse)
