Huffwx
Nah, I just figured out when they usually issue them Oh, and don't bother looking at 06z NAM... go straight to bed Hah, woke up at 1 am and Euro got me excited. NAM-- Faster and warmer. I hardly get any qpf down here.
HECS4DC14
If your expectation is a HECS, you're going to be let down. Maybe not on quantity, but perhaps on temps, and consequently on impact quotient. I believe 14 is the all-time March low at DCA. We may see that with ripping snow on Monday. Sounds historic to me.

Fozz
GFS is a massive hit for northern MD, still good for DC but less room to shift north.
winterymix
How are they worthless? LWX is helpful in numerous ways. I like the new snow maps especially on the unusual events where we get more that the upper prediction.

Heisy
NAM is having its normal issues trying to put the low in the wrong place. It'll trend towards the globals come 12z imo.

CAPE
Who gives a crap about a 6z NAM run? Last nights 0z NAM looked ok. GFS and Euro look great, which btw are the two models being used to generate the forecast if you read the AFDs.

CAPE
throwing out snow maps is bullish, Id wait for further guidance I think its fine. They adjust em. Had their first map out yesterday actually. Better than LWX which mentions only liquid equivalent in their forecasts. Nice to have an idea what to expect, and the models are in pretty good agreement. Maybe LWX will go out on a limb and mention possible accums by late tomorrow afternoon
snowfan
throwing out snow maps is bullish, Id wait for further guidance but you've been asking for snow maps. Now you have one. These are designed to change with guidance, so they could change.
CAPE
but you've been asking for snow maps. Now you have one. These are designed to change with guidance, so they could change. Exactly. As I said, Mount Holly issued their first one yesterday afternoon. They had 2-4 and 4-6 initially.

CAPE
Masco is normally pretty good. His first call map is terrible. I guess he thinks all the models are wrong in driving the arctic air southward early Monday morning.
North Balti Zen
Thanks so much for the disco overnight all, helpful to read this AM. Based on all the discussion, will prob cut my long weekend a tad short up here in vermont and convert rental car to a one-way and drive back Sunday night ahead of it. At least don't have to make a decision on that right away ( in case NAM is not a blip)....
