Chicago WX
Hoosier would approve of this run. Snow to mix/ice for LAF. Feel like I've seen this story from the GFS a few times this winter.

Ice is useless at this point as all it does it take away from bigger snow potential.
Chicago WX
Bizarre/fun run of the GFS. Last piece at 168+ hours probably has more cold sector precip in reality...and would then complete the cycle back to snow for LAF. Actually pulling for this solution to verify...somehow, someway. hm8
this storm will cause powerball to raise his winter grade to an A Too long of a duration

Hoosier
Truer words, though. I guess I'd make an exception for all ice. Go big or go home.

nwburbschaser
It seems like a lot of storms have happened during weekends this winter. I'm all for some snow on a Saturday or Sunday.

cyclone77
If we get more than 6" from this storm here I will officially change my board name to cyclops77.

wisconsinwx
This is getting annoying. Yes this winter of model watching has been annoying, everyone in this forum has seen an 8"+ storm in their backyard pretty much expect for myself, Cyclone and SSC I think (maybe Radioman as well). Chicago WX
If we get more than 6" from this storm here I will officially change my board name to cyclops77. Think of something better. Might actually happen. Good luck I hope you guys get to 80" it's not out of the question. 80" would be insane for here. Never know I guess. But if somehow things worked out perfectly... And I will change it to wussconsinwx. You should do it anyway. BowMe would approve.
nwburbschaser
And I will change it to wussconsinwx. It's a lock then. I'm riding your history of ultimatum type bets on here. In reality though I do think Cyclone has a good chance with this one, not sure how far north this is going to end up so I'm not too confident about up your way. Brewers
Yeah...so the GFS shows a 500mb dgz at times during the event.
Harry
Another one of those rare times i am kinda feeling good about this potential event.
stormtrackertf
Another one of those rare times i am kinda feeling good about this potential event. I feel pretty good too considering this winter all someone has to do is sneeze at a high enough altitude and we get significant snow.
DAFF
This has been the longest ZZZ pattern of the winter season. A week of nothing, the snow gods are reloading so we better get ready !!

A-L-E-K
We've done excellent with these hyper long duration events this winter but a good portion of the 1'+ totals IMBY was the lake which isn't likely to be a large player this time around. Either way, it's hard to discount decent totals (4-8 region wide) if the duration, deep dgz, and high ratios pan out. Still hoping for something a little more dynamic/intense but i'll try not to crap on this thread too much for people eagerly chasing records. snowstormcanuck
Zero expectations of a hit here. I just hope I don't smoke cirrus for the whole event. H5 setup looks similar to the Jan 1 storm from what I recall.

I have always said that if it is going to be cold, it might as well be snowy. Records or not, any snow is good snow.
