Stebo
Never even heard of that. But I'm wondering how it's any different from a typical lake breeze. I'd have to imagine the land/ice interaction is probably similar to the land/water interaction, still the same principle in play here.
Powerball
JB, for the past two days has been mentioning similarities, and showing maps to back up his point, to the set-up in March 1993. He said in his video that he's not calling for a storm of the magnitude of the Superstorm, simply that the dynamics which led to a Big Dog event that month will exist next week. In other words, he says someone is going to get a big storm next week. I wasn't talking about the storm...
Powerball
That's a pretty impressive low level inversion on the 21z RAP for Detroit at 12z tomorrow. It's amazing to see the difference a deep snowpack (even in March) can make.
IWXwx
I just decided that I'm giving this winter an A+. Was going to give it an A, but after seeing several snow lovers on here post about being sick of winter, it can't be anything other than an A+. Geos
Snow actually melted some today. Very few areas that have powdery snow left after the sun beat on it all day. Few grass patches showing up in Kenosha. High 24° today.

Ottawa Blizzard
lol I know, but to be fair to the guy he emphasized that he is not forecasting a storm of the magnitude of March 1993.

cyclone77
51 in the point for Monday now. Above freezing in the point everyday in the 7 day outlook. Might see a little snow early tomorrow, but other than that there's none in the forecast. Next weeks system looks to miss well southeast. Good chance the snow will be completely gone by Tue-Wed here. daddylonglegs
^ This Great pics DLL! But I thought you said you'd never walk on the river again? This is the "lake"...its the pool behind the dam at Dresbach, MN...the river channel would be near the MN bluffs...it would take me an hour+ probably to walk to it...that is where things would get iffy. Where i was walking there is probably 2 feet of ice....and almost no current (there is a spillway---small dam like structure--that you would have to watch out for).... Its probably been colder in N Alaska then here. Yup...lakes probably done... now the big ? will be when does the ice disappear from L Superior... mid June? Just a one day glancing cold shot next week here and it looks to head right back above freezing.
