Ltrain
I can't wait for tomorrow when we get posts saying its too warm because its in the 50's. Sure it won't stick on the roads but who cares.
Ltrain
NYC forum- all without hesitation say this baby is going north. Maybe they are right, but it seems they claim this every time. Haven't they had a great enough winter. Yeah, Ralph Wiggum is leading the north train for NYC.
Bob Chill
We'll see what happens of course but you would never hear anyone in this subforum say with confidence that a storm is definitely coming north when the gfs/gefs/euro/eps are totally locked in under 72 hours. Interstate
I'm as guilty as the next guy getting side discussions going in threat threads but it's prob time to limit posts to disco only from here on out. Today could be the deal sealer. or breaker

gymengineer
Yeah, Ralph Wiggum is leading the north train for NYC. He thinks we were expecting 12-18" of snow off of the 0Z model suite.
North Balti Zen
Not for nothing, but interstate gives unreliable pbp. And is also apparently yearning for a bust.

Bob Chill
I like Mark's map too. He's pretty good and it's a shame we drove him out of here but it seems silly in a lot of ways.

It is a shame, and there's a lot of silly HS stuff that goes on here, but all you can do is try not to participate in it. As far as the map is concerned, I'm surprised how far south he goes with the 2 to 4" line. He's on board with the cold pressing south for sure. MN Transplant
Hello from the frozen north (MSP). They've only had 50-60" of snow up here but the snowpack is insane. Pretty sure I'm going to gain 60+ degrees when I land at IAD on Sunday.

North Balti Zen
I couldn't resist and called wiggum out in the ny thread. He's really mis-representing stuff there about what this forum's expectations are.
attml
Where's all of the snarky people who gave me a hard time the other day when this was still an "ice-storm" for using "1800's wish-casting" instead of modelology when I said AACO would get 4+ inches and that all of your models had the bulk of the storm too far north? You're becoming tedious. Nobody said anything about 1800's wishcasting. I know what you're referring to.

North Balti Zen
You did that???? Whoa. Yeah, probably shouldn't have, but he was telling people this forum was expecting 12-18 inches based in the UKMET and then talking about how crushed we all were going to be based on the 6z NAM. It was just weird enough that I said something. Course, I won't be saying anything else as Rib has put his foot down.

I'm not even paying attention to late week. If that thing cuts off and crawls we're pretty unlikely to have the column. Unless it manufactures its own cold of course. mattie g
Are we going to do a contest? My guess: IAD:6" DCA:7" BWI:5.5" I don't think we've done a snow contest all season (or at least not in the last couple months), so I say we steer clear. It is going to be frozen. And there is a lot of it. Not invested in totals. Nice to see a really good show.
North Balti Zen
Yup, definitely ending my weekend in Vermont early. Rather than train back on Monday (the original plan), will one-way car rental back Sunday night. Don't want to get caught away and not be able to get back. (The irrational part of me worries this will jinx the storm into not happening).
