The posts this morning to the PA guy about being a meh event for the total loss, what a great storm. Now was this a swfe?sure acted like one

We're kind of missing that screaming SW flow aloft though. Pretty hardcore easterly, as you can see by the downsloping going on in the mountains.

I don't think I've ever racked up ~12" of 20:1 in a SWFE before. Maybe down there it resembled one with the WAA.

Wasn't a SWFE with more S and even SSE winds in the mid-levels and even more easterly further north...at least for about 750-800mb and down. This was a classic little clipper/redeveloper S of SNE...they almost tend to resemble mini-late blooming Miller Bs.

Last time I remember something this insane was 12/23/97 when I was in western Rockingham County.

Yeah I saw almost 7" in one hour during that in ORH...it came straight down with almost no wind with temps in the 27-28F range IIRC. Not sure how big your aggregates were but in that one we had basically huge silver dollars.

Did Metro Boston area just drop below freezing in like 1/2 hour time? Distaster commute.

Yup, temp crashing here. Briefly tickled up to 32.5 and now down below 30. Luckily things didn't melt too much so it isn't as icy on sidewalks but the slush on untreated roads is hardening up a bit.
