 the northern sky. Still very intense. I feel for the airline passengers who are on flights heading south into DCA. They are far closer to the action than I would like if I were on those flights. 

 

 

BWI still has flights in/around the airport in the sky. I can hear them flying around.

Think it can strengthen after it crosses the mountains before it gets to the metro?

 

Most likely will if it can hold together. Do or die time for it in the next hour as it battles the hills. Also want to point out "strengthen" is a relative term as we're loosing instability by the hour.

I'm in W Springfield and we're on the northern end of the most impressive lightning storm I recall.  For the last 20 minutes or so I'd guesstimate we've had something like 100+ flashes per minute.

 

Giant paparazzi are firing away in the sky.
