Already pushing 70 S of Richmond w dews in the mid-upper 60s. Warm front appears to be around the RIC , Tappanannock area - maybe eevn into SoMD with Patuxent Naval Air Station at 61 now. southmdwatcher
Tornado probabilities up to 5% for the majority of the area west and south of Calvert/Anne Arundel line up to Greenbelt and up I-270 to Hagerstown on the 13z update from SPC. 10% in VA between I-95 and I-81 south of I-64. Pretty decent shift west.

needbiggerboat
Fail storms Wow didn't realize the event was over and it was Thursday already. I hope you are right tho...nothing compelling about rotating storms or 20" of rain too close to home.

I hope you are right tho...nothing compelling about rotating storms or 20" of rain too close to home. I can see into the future. Wouldn't be surprised to see a tor watch to our south and some cya tor warnings issued by either LWX or Wakefield. But for the immediate DC area, nothing exciting but pouring rains will happen
Ian
Up here mid level winds are pretty southerly which isn't the best. Not too uncommon with a low that's closed for so long.. usually the early days are the good ones tornadowise. There's more westerly component further south though. The shear is quite good overall. You can even see little updrafts 'spinning' in breaks in the morning activity further south. I think our problem will remain that it just keeps raining a lot. Possible you get something embedded in that but who knows. If we're able to get sustained non rain and warm up a bit during peak heating we might have some more interesting times at least stormwise. yoda
I think they should remove the 10% and shrink the 5%. Or just dash our hope entirely with the 1630 OTLK But at least we have flooding rains to keep us company until the next severe weather chance.. which is... sometime in the future...
