codfishsnowman
i see a lot of middle fingers for the ct river valley while just n of nyc rips....is there gonna be some kind of downslope component for hfd to spfd?
dryslot
Most of the public has had enough and I love seeing them stressed over it. And this one comes with less hype but will have a bigger impact then saturdays for some areas
N. OF PIKE
Would btv wrf be more useful than usual as a meso model w "meso low" Precip really explodes for eastern areas 1pm as initial snow /rain line is like GHG /TAN With the MSLP taking a funky track (N/NNE) from UUU To Cape Ann the ne mass inside 128 may have to watch for a change back to rain (esp if mslp track is a tick left) otherwise it will be a heavy (relatively) speaking pasting for anyone just west of low. http://www.erh.noaa.gov/btv/html/4kmwrf/ Juicy esp sw maine . really psm ne to Lewiston +.5 all EMA
CoastalWx
i see a lot of middle fingers for the ct river valley while just n of nyc rips....is there gonna be some kind of downslope component for hfd to spfd? I don't necessarily see a middle finger potential there aside from some sort of unlucky subsidence zone....but that could happen anywhere.
dendrite
I hate even looking at them, but the SREFs mean looks similar to 3Z. A ~0.50" swath from SNE into SW ME.

Everyone gets in on it with the initial wave but once the coastal low takes over, the ME folks and back into SNH/ NE MA get it better.
N. OF PIKE
Violently agree @work they know i love the wx so they ask me for the "latest" and i Always tell them if we play our cards right "heavy heavy shoveling" and "deep deep winter" i love it..and they hate it...but they still ask all the time before a storm Looks like solid advisory for most areas away from immediate coast ...perhaps high end advisory

TauntonBlizzard2013
Box didn't change their thinking here. I agree. An inch seems good, wouldn't be surprised if it's crappy non accumulating snow, or just a slushy mess

HoarfrostHubb
Seeing people squirm is the best. what's causing all these storms to develop so much better than a few weeks ago?Well, the Pacific is sending moisture further south I think
OceanStWx
Also... pretty ugly looking snow growth. Omega is very low in the troposphere. Centered around 850mb where the strongest isentropic lift is. Temperatures are around -5C there. There will be ice crystals in the cloud (seeder-feeder) but it's not a setup that screams "thump" to me south of the Pike. DGZ is up around H7, so yeah the low level lift isn't going to be ideal for areas south of the Pike it looks like. It's almost like a mini dry slot, if you want to think of it that way, that works through southern areas.
OceanStWx
I am very encouraged by this radar presentation already today. There is that NW/SE oriented band of lift I was talking about yesterday. You can tell we're working with a potent wave, very convective looking already. OceanStWx
That was yesterday. he tweeted he's upping amounts in Ct as things look much more impressive "Tuesday snow coming in a bit more impressive. May have to bump up numbers away from coast" You are a machine. You do have a little window of lift through the DGZ around 18z, but before and after that it may be pretty meh with lift below H7.
