Yeah, the refs. That point zone that Roy threw at Duke is what changed the game.

Yeah Duke only shooting 12 FT all game with Parker, Hood and Jefferson banging away inside and driving the lane against guys who are not as good as them is just nuts, then UNC goes to the line 31 times, UNC homers have lost the right to whine about Coach K and Duke getting all the calls forever....

But its over and its time to move on Cuse up next ......

Banging away? Duke was forced to shoot mostly jumpers in the second half when UNC went to the zone. Duke has never been an inside team. And there were plenty of times UNC got bad calls, too. UNC just shut Duke down with that zone in the second half. But keep making excuses.

LOL ok whatever you need to do to legitimize such as lopsided FT margin is fine just know if the shoe was on the other foot UNC fans would be whining from the rooftops.

Suns out here surprisingly its filtered and fleeting but our temp shot up 4 degrees in 15 mins

Come on now... not trying to start a pissing contest but Parker should of had his second foul with 16 minutes to go in the first half and the foul called with 30 seconds left in the game that prevented unc from a wide open dunk are reasons why unc fans get upset.  They sure didn't have any problem giving McAdoo his second foul in the first half.

You guys need to send the Orangemen packing tomorrow !!

Yeah.  They're both coming off of a loss.  So both teams should be fired up.  I actually wish Syracuse had not lost to BC, so that they would be more complacent.

LOL whatever I haven't changed cause I just woke up, those are the two games from last year so now that UNC (and the refs  :devilsmiley:)  actually managed to beat Duke I will remove them.......

Come on, downeastnc, this is beneath you.  Don't give excuses for the Duke lost.  They got outplayed last night.  Let's just accept it and move on.  We know that Duke has benefited from plenty of ref calls in the past.  Sometimes the ball bounces the other way.

Georgia people need to be on alert.

No we don't. You already know how the storms work. They will fall apart especially once they get here.

This belongs with other folk beliefs.

Tornados can't climb a mountain.

The river will protect us.

How much you wanna bet I'll will be complaining tomorrow about how we miss everything?

Zero, but that doesn't make your reasoning any more sound.

Fast forward one day.

Getting hammered with gusts way over 50mph!

Tornado warning to the South.

The prosecution rests

I mean no offense guys.. at all.. It's just hard for anyone outside the Upstate sometimes..

We have Stormsfury, Larry, Michelle, Lookout, Michelle that really ever mention Central SC/Coastal regions.

Of course we have some members that become "active" during events.. but as a whole.. that list above is about it for most that say much about this region.

Probably everyone knows how you feel because everyone has experienced it at one time or another. Indeed, it was a lot worse for some of us a long time ago...because 15 or more years ago on wwbb, the entire southeast group consisted of about 5 or 6 people. Besides our tiny group, virtually no one talked about the southeast...instead all the talk of the major mets and knowledgeable posters was focused only on the center of the weather universe, the mid atlantic and new england. As bad as you think it is now, every thing you can imagine being talked about was about the mid atlantic and new england (especially the mid atlantic/dc)... from winter storms, heat, cold, rain,  short term, medium range and all the way down to seasonal forecasts/discussions. Georgia and the carolinas were completely ignored.

Even when it was clear that ga and/or the carolinas was in for a big winter storm, all the attention and discussion would be focused on whether or not the mid atlantic would get an inch of snow or not. But it was even worse than that..as much of the attention would be focused on not just one region..not even one state, but one city...DC. You want to talk about frustrating and annoying..I couldn't stand our entire region being ignored while DC was the focus constantly. What made it especially annoying to me was that it was the focus of attention by mets that didn't even live in or around DC.

And if that wasn't bad enough, many of us were still just learning.  We had to figure out on our own what it was going to do because no one was going to talk about georgia or the carolinas. Hell, for the longest time I don't think we had any mets until allan became one. (If i'm forgetting someone, forgive me..that was a long time ago lol)

So then we moved to easternuswx  and it was more or less more of the same for a while...however we finally started to get more from the southeast join up. I'm talking just one or two dozen. We still had to fend mostly for ourselves. Of course things started to change through the mid 2000s as our group went from a small handful to quite a few. And of course now we have a huge and diverse group. It still seems strange to be honest that we have such a big group after it only being a very small handful of us for so long.

But back on wwbb and for quite a while on eastern  we complained about it,  like you do, but it didn't change anything.  You can't force people to talk about your region. The only way you will ever get the attention you want is to have more join up from your state or area and learning things yourself and posting about it/make your own forecasts.  Eventually it will change but just like we did, you  are just going to have to deal with it until more members from sc or your area join up. It doesn't happen overnight though..it took years for us to get a respectable number. I know it's frustrating but complaining about it all the time really isn't going to get you anywhere. You just have to be patient and/or try to steer the conversation your way by discussing your area in detail with respect to the models, forecasts, etc.

Look on the bright side though,  you have at least a few that will mention your area because for me and a small few from north carolina, for a long time we would be lucky if our entire region was even mentioned at all..much less our entire state..and anyone ever mentioning our city and town was nothing but a pipe dream that would never happen :arrowhead:

Good thing I didn't bet you lol! This was one of those rare times though! The line significantly strengthened instead of weakening like it usually does and like how the NWS said it would today.

Well yeah if the bet was the most important thing, but in my mind it's not even close. Statements like you made last night, to ignore the possibility of severe weather because, "it always falls apart before it gets here" has the potential of getting some newbie killed.

Nobody really but me on the SE forum from Fla (particularly in winter), at least actively anyway, and yet I've developed quite a number of acquaintances on this (and Eastern before) who will gladly take the time to share ideas and thoughts and teach me, even though I am 100 miles south of any realistic snow flurry line (except on occasion ;) ). We've got some true ladies and gents here - all you need to do is approach them and not be an arrogant so-and-so, and you'll get quite a positive education (and some good-natured teasing to go along with it). My 2¢ worth ...

I'm not the only one that says things like that.

By the way Jburns, the NWS also said the storms would weaken as well.

" THE CURRENT STORMS ARE STILL EXPECTED TO LOSE

QUITE A BIT OF PUNCH"

Only model that had the storms remaining that strong was the HRRR.

Your claim was people in the entire state of Georgia didn't have to worry about the storms. Is that what the above quote stated in full context?  I didn't see it so I don't know what office or area you are referencing.

I wasn't being serious about the whole state, but I was about our area. It always seems to happen.

Here is what the NWS Jacksonville was saying at the time I said what I said.
