MichaelScott
Snow just starting-- we had an odd mix, snow sleet snow pellet mix till 3 am, freezing rain for a couple, back to snow and then freezing drizzle since 7am or so. Radar looks pretty good for a couple hours of mod snow. Sitting around 30/29 in LYH.

MN Transplant
This storm was fantastic, but the day after might be more depressing than Feb 2006. I'm hoping, but snow and 36 isn't that exciting. We better be extremely convective.
snowfan
The ULL will slide underneath and keep the heaviest precip south of baltimore. Best probably doesn't get into the area until dark.

jonjon
We've got to be close to 16" and snowing at 2" per hour. NOAA has us at 7"-11" this afternoon!

I think they've gotten at least the main roads pretty cleared already. Probably figuring that anything else that comes won't stick right away, and won't really be hard to keep up with. dukeblue219
As of noon near the Silver Spring metro station we have 7" on the ground, nothing falling at the moment. I would kill to have the 14"+ some of you guys have! Oh, and its 38 officially here... 41 on my outdoor thermometer hanging off my balcony. Probably figuring that anything else that comes won't stick right away, and won't really be hard to keep up with. My subdivision is pretty much cleared up, and we're near the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to plowing. Even with getting a shade under 13" last night, having temps go just above freezing with drizzle for hours now (plus with a little filtered sunlight) has helped clear up the streets. terpsnation
The light post and parking sign below my apartment that a truck obliterated last night is completely hidden under the snow, but everything is dripping heavily. Deck Pic
Unless we are really lucky I think we can expect a 1-2 degree drop from current readings....I think 3 is pushing it unless it is insane so I think anyone 35 or under should be ok for accumulation...if you are 36, maybe...I think people 37 and higher right now are going to struggle later
mattie g
If I can pick up 1.25" with the evening's back end, I'll have doubled my season's total (14") in this storm. I said yesterday that if I got that, I'd be over the moon. True enough, but I'll be pissed if someone else gets rocked and I get my 1.25".
