snowfan
That BWI total looks bogus. What are they doing up there? Yesterday morning they reported 12.3, then adjusted down to 10.5 and then they only get 1 from the back end when everyone around them gets 3-6"? sonickteam
I live about 5 miles from BWI and i got about 12" from the first part and 1" from the ULL. It was mostly rain and some sleet with about an hour of snow. I think the BWI total is close, trust me, i was a bit bummed watching everyone's totals skyrocket last night while we were getting zilched. It was great to finally get a foot of snow, but if that was our once every 3-4 year blast.....

Yesterday morning they reported 12.3, then adjusted down to 10.5 and then they only get 1 from the back end when everyone around them gets 3-6"? They probably quality checked the number and adjusted down based on either bad measuring technique and/or the fact that it was a slight outlier with respect to area totals....BWI has a history of adjustments down after inflated totals... before the ULL BWI AIRPORT 12.3 700 AM 2/13 AIRPORT 3 E LAUREL 11.6 700 AM 2/13 COCORAHS 2 W SEVERN 11.5 700 AM 2/13 COCORAHS SEVERN 11.5 620 AM 2/13 TRAINED SPOTTER 2 SSW SEVERN 11.3 700 AM 2/13 COCORAHS 1 E CROFTON 10.0 810 PM 2/13 NWS EMPLOYEE 1 SSW SOUTH GATE 9.5 700 AM 2/13 PUBLIC PASADENA 8.5 831 AM 2/13 NWS EMPLOYEE 1 ENE CROFTON 8.5 856 AM 2/13 TRAINED SPOTTER 1 SE PASADENA 8.5 700 AM 2/13 COCORAHS 3 ESE PASADENA 8.0 800 AM 2/13 COCORAHS 2 SW MILLERSVILLE 8.0 609 AM 2/13 TRAINED SPOTTER GREEN HAVEN 7.0 200 PM 2/13 TRAINED SPOTTER 2 NNE CROFTON 6.5 832 AM 2/13 NWS EMPLOYEE WSW BIRDSVILLE 5.3 900 AM 2/13 COCORAHS 2 NW RIVA 5.0 900 AM 2/13 TRAINED SPOTTER 2 ENE DEALE 3.8 730 AM 2/13 COCORAHS 1 NNE OWINGS 3.5 1000 AM 2/13 TRAINED SPOTTER 1 SE DEALE 3.5 700 AM 2/13 COCORAHS 1 NNW ARNOLD 3.0 700 AM 2/13 COCORAHS BELVEDERE HEIGHTS 3.0 1000 AM 2/13 TRAINED SPOTTER 2 SSW DEALE 3.0 915 AM 2/13 COCORAHS

It was great to finally get a foot of snow, but if that was our once every 3-4 year blast..... I don't find BWI totals bogus, I find them incompetent for the 20+ years I've lived 2 miles north before the 09/10 winter, their totals were always pretty good compared to what I would get, usually they reported a little less than what I measured after the 12/19/09 bliz when they were chastised, they always cut it back inexplicably or are woefully too low to start I mean qpf yesterday was 1.77" and they reported only 9.6"...believe me, we did not have that much precip that was non snow as we were in the dry slot and the ratios through 2am were pretty decent all I can think of is agenda of some sort

bigjohndc
I received 9.5 on the front end, and about 2.5 from the ULL for a total of 12. The aligns with the other spotter near me who reported 11.5 to the NWS.
