we have pretty substantial urban/poor drainage flooding in forest hills, ny.  standing water on corners is bordering on 2-3 feet with the heavy rains last hour. I've seen numerous lightning strikes. Austin st is covered in water, with plows rolling through, clearing out mainly water and chunks of snow...

Not as much as I though it would I had 9" of new snow today now down to 5.5"

It isn't melting, it's compacting. 34 isn't high enough to melt a lot of snow. The snow from earlier this morning is still on car tops, even small amounts despite getting drenched here from 9am on. I'm personally 100 percent over this storm. Bleh where I am.
