Massive thunder and lightning with heavy rain/freezing rain at 31.7F (ZR not coating anything yet, though) here in Metuchen (Edison area).  Hope this changes over soon or all the QPF will be wasted...

few hours i would think at least...850s gotta long way to go..this first batch will be all non-snow i think

As nice as this storm was, these types of storms annoy the hell out of me with the R/S line and especially the warm upper levels. First we hope they hold off and then we hope they crash and it drives you nuts. Thank god for this mornings thumping but there may not be much additional depth with all this rain falling (melting, compaction).

Precip doesn't add up as fast as you think. Even heavy rain for the next hour will probably only "waste" .1 to .2
