WintersGrasp
Kind of bothers me that some local stations are saying that they had called for it to happen this extreme...and the NWS didn't really see it coming. not true!!! NWS had me in 10-14" since early yesterday when we even doubted it ! Unbelievable
PB GFI
IS that the Euro? It does look like it wants to ride the TPKE N on the RGEM GFS EURO . The max would w b west of the TPKE and up the Hudson . but .5 does get to the city and .4 to Nassau County

weatherpruf
8.5-9 in Woodbridge before the complete change to rain around 12 45 pm. I think the forecasts were damn close by all. CBS 4-8 for metro was lower end, but ABC at 6-10 was right. CPK with 9.5. Now, if more comes in tonight, then they will bust a bit.Lee Goldberg just said 2-6 overnight. That's a lot of leeway, and 6 would make their original forecast bust low, but not by much.
WintersGrasp
The global models don't give the city nearly as much as the RAP gives our area for tonight....last RAP gave us 5-10 or so....euro seems like a few inches maybe? Looking at it again, the 850s seem warm on the RAP to start which would cut down...not 5-10"

WintersGrasp
New RAP shows us changing over to all snow on the backend at around 11pm, when 850s crash and all other levels are below freezing as well. Until then, probably a sleety mix
NorthShoreWx
Trees are developing a light glaze in Smithtown. Temp at 1:20 is still 30. Every once in a while I see a few snowflakes, but I think it is just snow that has blown out of the trees.

jjvesnow
As per Ryan Maue`s ALGO . maybe .8 but thats what it says That would mean another 6-10 inches on top of the 12-13 i already have. Can anyone confirm the Euro is showing this much? I see the RAP is showing around .50 so that may be accurate.
REDMK6GLI
Even the RAP the best is west of you . You'd think that even if the 500mb passes south of LI we'd get a chance of a 3-6" snowfall still as the setup would be pretty good. Guess not at this time, we'll have to see how it works i suppose

I see the RAP is showing around .50 so that may be accurate. Yes, the euro focuses the band on Trenton and especially north of Trenton. The RAP focuses it on the lower Hudson valley...and the newest RAP just out now gives the NYC area about 4-5" of snow
