If the Euro is right tonite and its more than 3 hours and .7 does fall , Upton was looking for 50 mph wind gusts as the center is deepening NE of us . Whiteout conditions are likely

Can you say christmas 2002 redux across NYC/LI paul? The EURO has done pretty good and has got support form the HRRR as well. Dont think i can get the 13" that i got in 2002 but 5-9" extra isnt out of the question tonight on the wraparound

I never, ever thought western Nassau would get killed with Sleet while central Suffolk piled up snow. I would've laughed if you told me that would happen.

It might have to do with elevation - I'm 120 feet above sea level. I was outside the house for a bit and it's just been pure snow this whole time, huge flakes.

edit: flakes are normal size now...wind picking up

wind NE 20mph gusting to 30mph

Snow mixing back in here in Howell NJ.  I'm a mile south of I-195, about a mile from Howell/Jackson border.  Changed over to sleet/rain about 8:45; now snow mixing back in.  Currently a mixture of sleet, rain, and snow.  Looks like we have about 8 inches.

Waiting for the second round this evening.
