Amazing how probably a couple of miles makes a difference. I'm on the southern border of Smithtown and it is just sleet here.

You will probably go back and forth between sleet and snow for a while.  FYI I am about 2 miles north of 25, so it is probably closer to 4 or 5 miles.

Spotter in Long Beach reported 5" new at 8:30, sounds about right. That's when we went to sleet and maybe aded a half inch or inch of sleet from that, so we might be around 6" total. This definitely evolved differently than I thought and from what models even at 0z showed when they almost all went colder. Might not even break warning criteria here if the second part doesn't produce. Right now I'd go 2-4" for that but that depends on where it sets up and how much is lost to slop. Could be more, could be little/nothing.
