vinylfreak89
14.5" here on the Gaithersburg/Germantown line measured at 7:45. Took the dog for a walk, and just before 8 started mixing with some sleet. When snow, the flakes are heavily rimed and rather painful. Still moderate to heavy at times snow here. Just a side note, room mate cleared the sidewalk at 6:45 and I measured 3" when I stepped out, so amounts easily over 2" an hour. This is beyond even my expectations. I expected around 10" at sunrise, not over a foot. Deform band should be rocking later. 20" may be too low

nw baltimore wx
Whew. Finally caught up! Oscillated back and forth from heavy snow to sleet for a time, but now back to pure heavy snow. Need a pivot to save me from the dry slot! I'm trying to catch up in model thread too, but does anyone have the timing and qpf for the deform band later? astarck
8.5" here in South Arlington. A little disappointing when you hear of the 12-16" totals not too far away. I think the sleet did a lot of damage to the totals here.

wxdude64
Question about amounts from spotters in Pub Info Stmt: are they measuring what is on the ground, or are they reporting amounts by clearing a measuring board every six hours? Oscillating back and forth between all sleet and snow/sleet mix. 26. * NOTE * -- wow at the temp diffs over short distances -- DCA at 36; Dulles 23, HGR 21! I cleared my board at midnight last night. 8.3 then, had a new 6.0 at 6 am. that worked out to 14.3, there was just a shade over 14 (14.1?) on ground.
