Metsfan
The snow should generate over us as time goes on. The short range models mostly have it from 4pm to maybe 8-9pm. And if it doesn't, oh well. I'm losing a good amount of snow depth today though with temps near 40 again. Snow starting to blossom down near the Delmarva. http://radblast.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/radar/WUNIDS_map?station=DOX&brand=wui&num=1&delay=15&type=N0R&frame=0&scale=1.000&noclutter=0&lat=0&lon=0&label=you&showstorms=0&map.x=400&map.y=240¢erx=400¢ery=240&transx=0&transy=0&showlabels=1&severe=0&rainsnow=0&lightning=0&smooth=

FreeRain
Looking at the radar I'm seeing a steady stream of moisture building from the south into Eastern Long Island and then wrapping westward. Light snow now here in NE Nassau (but still 36 degrees).

JBG
Looks like a snow fail in this area. We had a few periods of light snow this morning, and now nothing. Believe me, we could use the snow.

Guest Pamela
People on here consistently exaggerate snowfall rates though. That much you do have to admit.. Its comical The rules are these: Visibility greater than 1/2 mile is light snow Visibility between 1/4 mile & 1/2 mile is moderate snow Visibility under 1/4 mile is heavy snow

Like someone said earlier. Find a landmark 1/4 mile from your house and use it as a measuring stick in regards to intensity.

Just got in from work. Yes this event Western areas wound be lucky to get sticking at this point. The writing was on the wall when the mid level features started trending away from what the gfs was showing. Also as we noted only higher rates would overcome the EWL. I've had mostly tiny mist like flakes through the morning probably due to a nested layer around 925 to 900mb.
