Santa Clause
UNV to IPT I think you are going to do just fine. Look at the RAP tracks low right next to coast slowly.
Festus
Count me in the sleet camp here in Manheim. Maybe 50/50 snow/sleet mix.
canderson
Heavy sleet in parts of Lancaster County, watching on WGAL. It appears MDT might moss the dry slot and stay in all snow for the duration, is that just me wanting to see things? Jamie that band I hope makes it to you guys, it is special. Mallow
Wonder if that sick band north of Harrisburg keeps pivoting? Wow, looks nice. Hoping that band north of Harrisburg can hold together! Here's to hoping! It's creeping up so slowly, though, I just don't think it's going to make it... EDIT: Will probably make it to within 10-20 miles southeast of here. I think it'll make it to IPT, though.
Mallow
Okay, my dad whose a weather nerd also texted me this SN+ 17.7 degrees. Getting updated measurement now. Hmm, definitely not heavy snow here in State College. Visibility is probably about 3/4 mi.
CarlislePaWx
1 1/2" / hr snow here with nice big flakes. I also wanted to mention that the snow is "NOT WET". I shoveled a small path to my snowboard and it was like feathers. Temp which had risen to 25.5 is now down to 24.7. I see on radar that band is very slowly moving northward into southern Perry county.
Storm Clouds
Mostly sleet here now...
showmethesnow
So I'm guessing Lincoln speedway opening next Saturday is out of the question? You guys will end up huge again down there Maybe I can get some sleep Saturday night then. We are basically at climo (not counting this storm) for the year down here in Hanover with 35 inches but surprisingly it has been a lot of nickle and dime events with the best storm being 7 inches. Can't remember a winter in ages that has been cold and snowy throughout like this.
djr5001
Wonder if that sick band north of Harrisburg keeps pivoting? Wow, looks nice. it has slid just north of sauss and I right now but was 2"/hr rates when it was overhead... that band certainly means business and would love to see it pivot back overhead
pirates21
UNV to IPT I think you are going to do just fine. Look at the RAP tracks low right next to coast slowly. snow picking up in Altoona....measured 2.25".....any chance we eek out 6" here?
Big Jims Videos
In between bands in Hershey according to radae, not according to what's happening outside. Still heavy snow. Winds picked up ever so slightly.
CarlislePaWx
It looks like that mega-band is taking on a pivoting motion with the northeastern side moving north faster than the southwestern side. Snow rate looks to be diminishing slightly now down to 1"/hr. Flake size decreasing a bit. Am going to measure again at 10:00 to see what I got in the past 30 minutes. Mallow
snow picking up in Altoona....measured 2.25".....any chance we eek out 6" here? It's quite possible, but it'll probably be a gradual accumulation. We more than likely won't be seeing the 1-2" per hour (+) rates that the folks in South Central and Southeastern PA have seen. jwilliams75
11 inches in Gettysburg
CarlislePaWx
Picked up another 0.5" here in Carlisle in the past 25 minutes...up to 9.0". Still heavy easily, just not insanely heavy attm.

What about the DEATH BAND slowly lifting NW from Harrisburg, will that make it up here. Been watching it creep slooowwwly northwest.
Santa Clause
If that band can set up over you guys, you will be in great shape. Areas that might get slotted already have 10-14 on the ground.

NortheastPAWx
The death band is one county away from us...this is like watching cross-country skiing. Come on, you can do it...
Rdd9108
Congrats guys, definitely a little jealous considering we havent seen an actual decent storm just nickel and dime events. Anyway hopefully some of you guys can exceed the models/ forecasts.

I'm just concerned about how the part of the band from Cumberland to Bedford has already completely stopped its forward progress...
shadow_
That heavy band is hitting a wall at rt 22 right below allentown. It just doesn't want to seem to budge over 22. I'm in whitehall and it's about 1 mile south of me. Ugh.
