Ralph Wiggum
Any chance this baby bombs and turns the corner in time for Philly to get a nice little hit?no
MattMal88
Thanks Kev im glad im not the only one that sees it lol. Thats radar down south looks eerily similar to the last storm with a line of storms moving through central FL, granted its not a line of severe storms and tornados like they had a few days ago but still impressive. I think we have an over performer on our hands as has been the case with almost every storm this winter. I agree that on radar it looks like its making the left hook up the coast. svh19044
Is the NAM the only model to correctly forecast the later start time for our cwa?
bluehens
it is going to overperform for Boston....not us Thanks Kev im glad im not the only one that sees it lol. rafpsu
0.2" earlier in sinking spring. radar would imply light snow now....but it's not reaching the ground.
Pohopoco
From what I can glean from the NE ppl,the NAM and Euro are supposedly in pretty good agreement,Matt...What that means for us and what actually happens,we can all see we've sorta lost our captain(s) of this ship sooo...We seem to have ingredients for a sneak snow, but the dynamics are seemingly just outta our reach...Anyway Lt.Snow continues here...23f...(.5 acc by eye)... GD0815
not gonna happen. lol i guess it depends on what he meant by nice little surprise.....does seem to be more returns down south than modeled yesterday. it isn't going to be big, and temps may be an issue, but sure, this is exactly the type of storm that could over perform. Kevin Reilly
Storm is down to 1002 mb. Most models had this storm at 1004 mb at 12z. Rap projected the storm would be 1002 at 14z.

bluehens
if by overperform you mean 1.5" vs. 1" then you may be right lol i guess it depends on what he meant by nice little surprise.....does seem to be more returns down south than modeled yesterday. it isn't going to be big, and temps may be an issue, but sure, this is exactly the type of storm that could over perform. GD0815
if by overperform you mean 1.5" vs. 1" then you may be right well ur forecast is for 1-2 so that wouldn't be overperforming. i wouldn't be shocked to see 3 or 4 inches if it stays snow. Most outlets and even I have the area in a general 2-4" snowfall range. Enjoy.

svh19044
Regardless of the RAP and HRRR, 4-6" in the far northern part of the CWA is starting to seem more realistic if it starts and stays snow. East of the city might start and remain as a mix cutting it down to the 1-3" range. West of the city, 1-3" as well. I'll take 2-4". Quakertown might see 5" out of this. JCT777
FYI - There is a separate obs thread for current conditions and snow amounts for the event. I'm slightly less enthused for this event than I was yesterday, but still think 1" to 3" inches will work for most of Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia counties. ChescoWx
This has the look of a storm in this area where the best moisture is where the temps are most marginal....may end up being on the low side of forecasts for some.... Still light snow here temp 30.
bluehens
I just don't see how it stays cold enough or precip heavy enough to accumulate at PHL
