chietanen
The NWS Albany pointed out that a mesolow developed over the Hudson Valley which contributed to the intensity of the snow. I don't have a measurement of new snow, but my snow depth is now at 30". Quite a storm for our area.

moneypitmike
Well, color me wrong. Ended up doing pretty well last night. I can't determine how much of this might be wind-driven versus new, but the evidence of my boot tracks I left on the deck last night is gone. Stilll snowing pretty decently. I'm guesstingating we picked up 5-7".

moneypitmike
AWT. MY p/c forecast through most of the day yestesrday had been calling for 6-10 overnight. I guess I may well have ended up in that range. The closest to thunder here was incredibly loud (and long) rumble of a slate-yanking roof slide. I never get tired of those. They sound like a train. School closed--maybe make an early departure for NH.

powderfreak
As of an hour ago I had 5.3" at home and 4.5" at the mountain. It is snowing hard but these are the smallest flakes I've ever seen. This stuff is so dense, I bet there's easily over 0.5" of melted in this 4.5" up at the mountain. I think the QPF forecasts will be correct but the ratios won't be.
