With the admins likely turning features (such as profile locations) on and off as this storm progresses, it might be a good idea for people posting obs to state where the ob is coming from.

 

This.  It drives me nuts when I read obs and I can't see the location of the poster.

seems LWX is dropping snow totals east and upping them west.

Yeah…I understand the logic for raising them out west, but I don't see it for lowering them towards the east.  Everyone will get in on the snow tonight and I think almost everyone will see 6"+ from tonight alone.  I'm thinking 6-10" for most of us tonight with lolli's to 12" tonight and then a much lower confidence 1-4" with the deform band.

Just took a glance at traffic cams in SW VA, don't see any snow yet, although radar looks impressive. Looks to still be trying to overcome a bit of 'dryness' as radar has the classic hole in the center, but it is shrinking fast. Maybe another hour? Snowing in Boone, NC per cameras.

And just like that snow on cameras in SW VA. Blacksburg and south/west
