Gravity Wave
The 11Z RAP(the last one to come out due to the weird happenings) has 10 inches for Allentown between noon and midnight, with the CCB still overheard. FWIW it slightly underestimated the front end dump, giving Allentown only 8 inches between 6 AM and noon. Can't throw it out since it has verified so far. thedude11
Looking at radar, it's clear the back edge is starting to get more amped in VA and NC.
Rib
The 16z RAP shows a band of rain changing to snow that aligns itself north to south right over PHL. Impressive snow totals from it.
TroyNJ
The second "wave" will be from the ULL, not wraparound.
jrodd321
HRRR anyone? R Does this remind anyone else of Jan 26, 2011? With that ULL coming through (Of course nowhere near the strength of that storms) but just the same general idea.
Rib
The second "wave" will be from the ULL, not wraparound. Bleh The HRRR is mostly from this morning. PHL has precip type issues for the "ULL"
GD0815
Bleh The HRRR is mostly from this morning. PHL has precip type issues for the "ULL" Looking quickly, some of the precip issues are surface temps, no? If so, I like our chances a little more. We aren't exactly torching at 34 and the precip should be heavy for a while. It's a close call, i agree.

Rib
This area of heavy qpf will be thin tonight but if PHL can manage to change to snow sooner, they could get 6 more inches. I feel much more comfortable about ABE gets 6 inches.

hazwoper
Ok, so can anyone tell me how in the heck I ended up warmer than Philly. I currently have 38 in my backyard. Warming aloft much stronger than surface warming, thus why higher elevations are warmer.

anthonyweather
abe could hit 20" if ULL holds serve. 13" here as well
Voyager
Warming aloft much stronger than surface warming, thus why higher elevations are warmer. And Ray told me I wouldn't see any sleet. When round one tapered off to lighter precipitation, I went to a graupel to a sleet to a plain drizzle...

JCT777
Nice, Paul. I had a feeling you would get past 60" of snow for the season with this storm. I'm past 50" currently, and should end up above 55" for the season after tonight. Have been experiencing light periods of sleet and rain over the last few hours in Spring Mount, nothing really notable. Temp has hovered in the 32 to 33 degree range since noon. JCT777
I'd still go somewhat conservative with Round 2 and say a general 2 to 5 inches with a few locations maxing out at 7 inches. Short range models look fairly impressive, but they are probably overdoing the snow and also have been shifting around the "jackpot" area.
