weathafella
Backlash looks to be central Mass east up into NH. Looks like it doesn't get CT or RI...am I seeing that right? No ct gets it as does Boston and northeast and eastern nh and of course downeast me.

powderfreak
No congrats PF on that run, lol. Funny how the NMM version has no measurable precip here, while the ARW version has over 1" QPF.
SnowMan
No ct gets it as does Boston and northeast and eastern nh and of course downeast me. Yeah - finally was able to see it on NCEP. bch2014
Yeah this "backlash" looks highly suspicious to me.. It's almost as if the QPF blob appears out of nowhere looking at the 6hr QPF charts..

Ginx snewx
Yeah this "backlash" looks highly suspicious to me.. It's almost as if the QPF blob appears out of nowhere looking at the 6hr QPF charts..huh, it's a function of bombogenisis, physically its correct now the NAM having it right is another thing. Many models have shown it in some form or another, looks like a secondary low at long range then in close it becomes part of the dynamic. Look up stinger jet on Google

RUNNAWAYICEBERG
it may not be a creepy crawler, but a 24hr storm give or take a couple hours is pretty good in this flow.

moneypitmike
These stingers can happen, but I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the 48hr+ NAM. It really seems we've been tracking this thing forever. I mean, it's 39 hours away still (for my hood). With the model mayhem, who knows what crazy things might unfold over the next few runs to fire up and dash hopes. Just give me the 18z GFS and be done with it.
