michsnowfreak
With such an epic winter going on for many, pictures tend to get lost in the threads quickly. I notice other forums (new england?) have done this in the past, and I think its a good idea to consolidate it all in one thread. It will be a great reference to look back on this winter. Especially this year when everybody has been getting in on the mix of pics, and there have been some great ones....time to keep them in one place! Add away everybody.... chances14
here's some pictures after the January 4-5 storm. Biggest snowstorm i have witnessed in my lifetime. Around 18" fell by the time it was all said and done Here's the headline in one of the local papers a few days after the storm. I think it sums up our winter nicely

London snowsquall
Alan, you're going to be enjoying that snowbank well into July. As big as they are this year, they were much bigger here in London in 2010-11. For reference, this one was taken in Feb/11 from the parking lot at work. It lasted until approx. Victoria Day in May 2011. These are still peanuts compared to the ones up north in the snowbelts.

Chicago WX
Part two from my walk that day. And the last photo is from early in the storm, as the snow was sticking to the trees.

HighTechEE
This is Ash Cave at Hocking Hills in SE Ohio near Logan. It's almost frozen to the top (about 85ft tall). The only other time I remember that it did freeze to the top was Jan of '78, also came close in '96 and 2009.

Chicago WX
This might be my favorite event of the winter...well, "short" event of the winter. The January 22 snow squalls in LAF. Video is from my phone, so not top notch quality...but you get the idea of the intensity.

This is very temp sensitive, lake ice is similar, but snow cover can mess with thickness... This isn't as corrupted.
