Wonderdog
GFS might not have had a big jump in totals but a notable push NW with the shield. h5 a solid improvement. It's a pretty good step. Wouldn't take much for the GFS to match the NAM in QPF. Still a few runs left to improve.

Bob Chill
So I'm near an inch? I still think it underdone, looked to me like it closed off the 500h low over a good spot to get us more than an inch. Yea, it was weird. It closed and opened and closed again. It tried hard to go nuts @ hr60 or so but didn't quite pull it off.
vinylfreak89
Yea, it was weird. It closed and opened and closed again. It tried hard to go nuts @ hr60 or so but didn't quite pull it off. I think Ender might be on to something with the lower resolution/vertical grid. Rarely do you see storms close then reopen like that
HighStakes
Most important aspect of this run is the comma head. Every model show it and it's quite expansive. That would cure any temp problems and qpf worries.
stormtracker
GFS is indeed better. It's moving every so slowly in the right direction....12z tomorrow it'll have 1 to 1.5" over the area...
PDIII
So I'm near an inch? I still think it underdone, looked to me like it closed off the 500h low over a good spot to get us more than an inch. Thu at 21z at closes right at the mouth of the Chesapeake... it was still an open wave for the same time on the 18z.. and from what I can remember I dont think the GFS has shown a closed off 500h low prior to it getting off the coast. Verbatim the QPF reaches back in to Western MD and (like someone said above) it catches on to the deform idea... I like it..

Bob Chill
drop that bad boy into the vort book The problem happened @ 60 when this little peanut couldn't keep his act together and poofed. By the time the good close happened it was a tad too late. Turn this little peanut into basketball and we get destroyed.
